Great small music player
This music player is a great choice for someone who wants: Small size, high sound quality, has corded headphones/IEMs, and still cares about value. I think it's the perfect replacement for using a smartphone as a portable music player, since phones are all ditching the headphone jack, getting so big and expensive, and this removes the risk of losing/breaking that important phone while exercising listening to music. I got the AP80 Pro for that and love it. I was (pleasantly) surprised at how small it is - the photo shows it for comparison next to a regular playing card and a quarter. It comes with a silicone case so you can choose to keep it 'naked' and enjoy its aluminum build, or case it for protection. I love that it has a touchscreen, which mostly works pretty well for such a small screen, and has physical controls too. The sound is noticeably better than my phone or laptop, and it can go much louder. The main downside I've found is the screen is hard to see in even cloudy daylight, and on screens with tiny widgets (like MSEB sound adjust), the small touchscreen can make it hard to move the controls. Also, the AP80 has no internal storage. It requires a microSD card to store any music.

JUNK
I don't like this thing is total junk too hard to use.The driver raced they send you is worthless. All of the different settings for the music sound the same. Once you do actually get it running. And then it's so complicated that once it goes off and quits running. You just feel like throwing it and listening to music the old way. What a waste of time if I have not destroyed the package. It would have alread 80 bucks on nothing. Boy amazon you guys really gotta get it together

good sound, good amplifier
I've been looking for a DAP that will also work as a bluetooth receiver, bluetooth transmitter, and has a microphone. This doesn't have a microphone, but works as both a bluetooth receiver and transmitter. (It can transmit its songs over bluetooth, but it doesn't accept an analog input and convert it to bluetooth.) I've only used these with my ER-4 earbuds, which are pretty low impedance. I don't know how well they would work with high impedance headphones or a balanced output. I like my FIIO BTR5 a little better, but this is a very close second. I've plugged it into my car's AUX jack, and it's plenty loud to drive my car infotainment system. It can work as a USB drive (with an SD card), and doesn't show up as PTP, which is more convenient for me. My only complaint is that the screen is made of plastic and is already scratched. For something that advertises it's build quality, I'm disappointed that it isn't more durable. And I wish it had a microphone (or would allow me to plug in a headset with a microphone) and did the bluetooth headset profile.

Pretty good, faster UI could be nice
Good sounding audio, good eq adjustability and easy to add files. I wish there was a more hard shell sort of case available but the silicone one gets the job done mostly. A clip to attach to a pocket or belt would be nice. Only main issue is that the included Hiby OS is a bit clunky probably due to the lack of a faster processor but it’s not been an issue for the most part except the few times it has frozen.

Lasted less than a year, too expensive to return under warranty
I've now had 2 "AP80 Pro" players, the first was defective (volume knob didn't work). Amazon was awesome and I returned it for a new one.The sound quality was amazing, it blew me away! So much better than my old Fiio X2.However, there were some annoying bugs in the user interface and the whole thing would freeze occasionally. I assumed that Hidizs would fix these with a firmware update...no update was ever released. Then, less than a year after purchase, the 3.5mm output stopped working. This player sits on a desk when I use it, it has not been damaged in any way.I emailed Hidizs about the issue, they were quick to reply and told me this was a known issue. They wanted me to ship the player back to them for "repair", however I would have to pay for shipping.I was happy to do this...until I looked into shipping prices. It costs close to the same price as a new player to ship to where Hidizs is located!I've given up at this point and will just buy another brand.

will not connect to usb and stay connected, will easily corrupt any files you have.
i put music on this thing and it worked great for awhile, so I try to add more songs to it and it just keeps restarting over and over again without me touching it and for whatever reason the SD card in the thing when you put it in it just randomly decides to completely forget the SD card is even in there which you can only fix by restarting the device and this happens every single time you do anything on the device. terrible, even my old ipod works better than this piece of crap.

Can not read 512GB Micro as Advertised
The product has good specs but it has problems reading a 512GB chip. I tried two formats FAT32 and exFat. Both worked for one day but in th emorning the device could not detect the chip any longer. The only way I can fix this is to re-format the chip and re-load the music which takes 3 hours only for it to work for a short time. If the storage would have worked as advertised this review would have been very positive.
