Thanks to a career made mostly on the stage, where women continue to pelt him with undergarments, his image is well defined. His recorded legacy is somewhat more diffuse, though, as this set amply proves. There's torrid main-room Vegas fare such as "It's Not Unusual," "Delilah," and "She's a Lady," plus the coy "What's New Pussycat" and the bombastic Bond theme, "Thunderball." But Jones also scored, somewhat surprisingly, with country-flavored material such as "Green, Green Grass of Home" and "Detroit City." Like the other 20th Century Masters sets, this one is inferior to a previously existing greatest-hits package--in Jones's case, the 1998 Best of Tom Jones. Superb collection from the Sultan of Sultry Sound. . . .
Admittedly, Tom Jones was not the biggest star of the mainstream Rock & Roll generation. His music appealed to a slightly older and markedly female audience, with enough male and younger fans to make him commercially successful in both the music and television industries. This collection features all of the top hits; It's Not Unusual, What's New Pussycat and She's a Lady leading the list. All are original recordings, superbly remastered for brilliantly clear and precise sound. However, as with many artists of the 60s and 70s, Jones' best music was in his second-line hits. Powerful, provocative tunes like Daughter of Darkness and Delilah combine with perhaps his best performance, Without Love(There is Nothing), to give The Millenium Collection as much scope as Tom Jones had talent. For those who enjoy powerful voices more than powerful guitars and keyboards, this one fills the bill. Sit back and enjoy the sexier side of 60s pop with The Best of Tom Jones - The Millenium Collection.

Great cd.
I'd seen Tom Jones on t.v. and really like his music, so I bought this cd. It came in I think I listen to it everyday.

Tom Jones fans will love this!
Was looking for a best of Tom Jones with some of his latest hits since I have another with earlier hits and this was perfect! Love his voice and brings back memories when he was on TV. Got some great tunes that I even sing along too! Fans will love this!
