I got these because, frankly, they looked like a neat way to introduce my kids to metrology. At a few bucks apiece I could buy half a dozen and place them around the house. I keep one in the garage and one at my computer desk because they're useful in a pinch. They're no more accurate than a tape measure, but because they slide into the device like calipers, they're more accurate than a ruler or a short measuring tape. Overall, if you understand their limitations, they're great and meet those modest expectations.

These are great and every handy man should have one in their tool box. We all know what it is like to go to the home good store and purchase a bolt, pipe, board etc. that is the wrong size or put in the wrong bin. This caliper is slim and fits easy in your pocket. Take it with you every time you visit the home goods store and confirm OD, length, ID, depth etc. Do not go home with the wrong part. I bought a Fowler caliper like this in 1971. The number etchings recently wore off. I have been looking for a replacement for several years. No one stocks them except Amazon. Good job!

I work in HVAC and these are perfect for measuring fan shaft sizes in tight locations. Being plastic, they are relatively durable, and the numbers are easy to read. At this price point I’m not too concerned with breaking or losing one because I have another one on back up. Measurements are accurate and perfect for out on the field.

These are a great value! I've been using plastic vernier calipers for some years. I have various precision calipers for transmission, differentials, disk brakes, and engines including digital, dial, and slide. But I don't need precision for most things like pipes and hoses or basic thickness measurements. The plastic calipers work great and I don't think twice about where I set these or what I use them on. The slide is firm and the scales are easy to read. The scale is typical 1/16" versus a precision caliper with a .001 scale.

Can't beat the price and it's nice that you can measure ID, OD, and depth. However, there is a small gap in the printing between the gauge lines on the shaft and those on the slide that makes it difficult to tell exactly which lines are matching up. It's fine for measurements down to 1mm, but would be so much easier to read for finer measurements with gauge lines that actually touch.

Exactly what I needed and expected. My old one broke after 10 years of use. Construction is simple and easy to use for a multiple of tasks. Price is right, not a fancy complex digital unit that needs batteries.

I needed a cheap caliper and this has done the job.

I liked the price and the plastic, and the vernier scale works. But the depth gauge was off by 1/16 inch (poor manufacturing), and one of the calipers was really, really loose (more poor manufacturing). I guess you get what you pay for.

So frustrating. This is the 3rd caliper I've ordered from Amazon and they're all inaccurate.
