Q: Shown in tenths but says its in 1/8ths? Which one do I get?

This is a tenths rod. Marked in tenths of a foot. The marks between the tenths are hundredths of a foot. Your read the top and bottom of the marks. The little point on the longest marks is at the whole tenths and the point on the medium marks is at the half tenth. Judging from the answers below I hope no one was building anything important and their sewers run downhill. There's no 1/8s, no inches, just no.

I thonk that is a spare button. Mine came with the button in place and a second as a spare. Also the merchant will email you with help. 888-844-3765

To collapse the Grade Rod, just push the black locking button on the back end side.

Q: 14’ rod measures 13’ 1”. Is that normal for your 14 foot rod?

All of the Adirpro 14" rods measure to 14'. I am not sure how it could read to 13'1" unless there was a printing error which is highly unlikely. Maybe the customer could send a photo.
