Insul bright.
Makes great potholders, oven kits, hot pads. Easy to sew thru. I used one layer of batting and one layer of insul bright. Perfect thickness for potholders.

Use for potholders and trivets
I use Insul-Bright for the insides of the trivets, or hot pads that I make for gifts or our church bazaar. It cuts easily and doesn't seem to dull my rotary cutter. I don't know about heat resistance or transmission; I just use it because it's recommended for that use. It isn't stiff so I use some medium stiffening as another layer in the hot pads.

A GREAT PRODUCT - CAUTIONS APPLY
Arrived a few minutes ago. It is what it is supposed to be. Over the years it should more than pay for itself.I do plan to download the free patterns. They might also inspire me to make my own. The cloth weighs next to nothing and is easy to work with.IMPORTANT UPDATE 09/28/2014:I have not been told this, but I know with certainty that this is the case: Lithium batteries heat up as they discharge. Therefore, one should never leave any lithium powered electric device on - and ESPECIALLY not wrapped in this fabric. Without clear ventilation, the battery can overheat and burn a hole straight through the floor to the foundation of the building.UPDATE 10/14/2014:Wanting to improve my 12 volt car food cooler/food warmer, I have used this fabric to cover the bottom and sides all around. I simply cut to desired size and used U.S. Postal tape to attach and keep in place. Easy amateur stuff. As expected, this dramatically improves the coolers low point temperature. This means increased efficiency when used as a food cooler or when used as a food warmer - either way you may want to use it.I mention this to encourage users to use their own imaginations for using this incredible insulating fabric. Think like insertion in the linings of warming vests or jackets, etc.
