Fallout 4 Ultimate Vault Dweller's Survival Guide Bundle Hardcover – Special Edition, November 10, 2015

If you're a Fallout fan and like to have all the goodies, this is the set for you.I received all the items listed except for my eGuide code like so many others (more on that later). The box is a fine piece of artwork and made of sturdy material. The book cover is beautifully done. The guide itself is indispensable in and of itself simply due to the scope of detail that goes into the game. The calendar, while it is small and does not come with a way to hang it, also contains beautiful artwork (check out the month of October). The lithographs come in a vault-tec folder which adds a nice touch. The patch, as well as the bottle opener and magnets, all contain the nuka cola logo. I have not tested the bottle opener nor the magnets to see how well they work. The magnets do look like real bottle caps and are not the flat circles as pictured. Overall, I am really happy with this purchase and Fallout memorabilia.As for the eGuide: as per another reviewer's suggestion I contacted primagames directly regarding the missing code. Their customer service simply needed a photo (as proof of ownership), proof of purchase (I used a screenshot of my order invoice), and my username for their website. Within 4 hours, on a Sunday, my eGuide was accessible through their site. Yes, it was a hassle that we shouldn't have to go through, but it was resolved fairly quickly (because I'm sure there are a lot of people contacting them about this issue).Overall, if you want all the fallout goodies you can get your hands on, you'll love this set. If not, just buy the guide by itself and have fun exploring the Commonwealth!

Fortunately, I managed to purchase this product at an special Amazon deal price of 77.99 instead of the normal $130 that the list price is off of Bethesda's website. I also purchased the Collectors Edition Fallout 4 Guide for around $30 only slightly before this bundle, unaware that the two guide packs were almost identical. Little did I know that for the large increase in price from the Collector's Edition that I paid, I wasn't getting much more than what came with the Regular Collectors Edition. Both this bundle and the regular Collector's Edition come with 7 poster-board Lithographs of the S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats, a large world map on cheap laminated paper that is very impractical for any real use for your gaming needs, and a code that unlocks an e-guide version on Prima games website(which you will have to register an account with to actually unlock the guide).The only extras that you get in this bundle, that you are paying almost $50 more for is a small metal pop-top bottle opener, a small thin cloth patch that says Nuka Cola on it, 5 bottle-caps with magnets glued on the bottom, a very small 2015-2016 calendar, and a special hard case for your guide. To be fair, it was my own fault for paying more attention when ordering both the bundle and the normal Collectors Edition guide. The hard case is actually quite sturdy and has a lovely picture of one of the types of power armor in game, the one you also see feature in the trailer and fastens quite well with a small magnet underneath the outside flap(not knowing how strong the magnet is, I keep it away from any electronics and/or my games by setting it in its own display, just to be safe). The guide itself is the exact same guide as the Collectors Edition, except this one has a very soft to the touch book sleeve covering it, featuring the same picture as is on the case it comes in, and is actually quite nice looking. The calendar is decent looking with pictures taken from the upcoming Art of Fallout 4 book, one picture for each month, nice looking but nothing amazing about it. There are also a few errors in the calendar, nothing major, but as an example November ends on Monday the 30th, but when you flip the calendar to December, it states that November ends on Monday the 28th, for some reason. As I said, little mistakes, but for what you are paying, you'd expect more. Speaking of little things, the bottle opener, patch, and bottle-caps are all neat little collector's items, and one of the big reasons why I wanted the bundle, but they just don't quite have the right look to them. I knew what they looked like prior to purchase, of course, but was willing to buy the bundle regardless, however the more you look at them, the more you realize that Nuka-Cola products in-game and on merchandising have always been red colored with white lettering. However, all their Nuka items are a bright white color with red lettering, not a huge thing but something that definitely begins to glare at you when placed with other collectibles - not sure what they were thinking during production.As a side note, since I store pretty much all of my collectibles on my large office desk, along with all my games and my rig, the magnets(which didn't seem to be all that strong but regardless) were going to be an issue so I went to removing the magnets from the bottle-caps. The job was actually quite easier than I originally thought it would be, as I just used the edge of a box cutter blade(just enough to wedge it slightly apart without damaging the cap) and was easily able to pull off the magnet, apparently the glue was not all that well put on, though it did leave a rather sticky residue on the bottom of the cap, but since they are bottom-down on my desk at all times, I didn't bother to wash it off. All in all, I would say that the bundle has some decent items in it, but unless you're an avid collector who loves to get their hands on every Fallout piece they can, I would stick with the much less expensive Survival Guide Collectors Edition which at the time of this review is on sale for $23.73 and still comes with the S.P.E.C.I.A.L posters and the world map.

***Update*** This is a late update (been busy playing Fallout 4 :)). I emailed Prima on Friday 11/13, they unlocked the eguide for me on Monday 11/16.I said I'd give 5 stars if Prima came thru with the eguide, they did, so I did. I don't think it's worth $77, maybe 35-45.Very awesome! I got this to go with my pip-boy edition, to have the Ultimate collection. It's just missing the eguide code, so 4 stars for that.This picture does not show how great this really is. The bottle caps are like "real" bottle caps, not flat like in the picture. I didn't open the package, so I cannot tell if they are made of metal or not. The lithographs in the Vault-Tec folder is very fitting. The map is going to come in very handy. A truly great collection for any Fallout fan It shows only one printing and when it's gone, it's gone. So grab on while you can.I'm going to try emailing Prima to see about the missing eguide, $10 value. If they send me a code, I'll change to 5 stars, which this obviously deserves (especially at $77 compared to other sites).

Great collection of collectible goodies. The box is sturdy and the magnet flap is really strong. The soft touch slipcover for the collectors edition guide is a nice touch as well. The set of lithographs are a decent size and come in a nicely themed folder. Makes a nice addition to the Pipboy. The only reason this is not getting 5 stars is because mine was missing the e-guide download code.EDIT: If you did not receive your e-guide code with your bundle, or if anything was wrong with your order, contact Prima at primagames.com. They will be able to unlock the guide for you after you present proof of purchase and ownership, and might even be able to help you get your missing lithographs. My e-guide was unlocked shortly before editing this review, so I hope that many others will be able to get their issues sorted as well.

great for this price!

Ich habe mir die Ultimate Edition des Spieleberaters schon gesichert, als diese noch 96 Euro gekostet hat, schließlich und endlich aber nur 87 Euro bezahlt und mich schon tierisch auf das Paket gefreut.Angekommen ist bei mir ein nicht eingeschweißter, sehr großer Schuber, der grandiose Spieleberater und dazu eine Handvoll billigstem Merchandise. Die Qualität der beigepackten Boni ist minderwertig und den Aufpreis zur normalen Version definitiv nicht wert. Hinzu kommt leider die schlechte Verarbeitung der großen Pappbox, die vorne an einer Stelle eingerissen ist. Rücksendung eingeleitet.Als echter Sammler habe ich dem Ganzen eine zweite Chance eingeräumt und in der zweiten Lieferung einen immerhin verschweißten Karton erhalten - jedoch erkenne ich ohne die Folie zu entfernen, dass diesmal sogar an zwei Stellen Risse vorhanden sind. Der Ultimate Guide geht nun also ein zweites Mal zurück.Die zwei Sterne bekommt das Produkt nur wegen des Beraters und der hübschen Karten - die gibt's jedoch auch für 50 Euro weniger in der normalen Collector's Edition, die ich dann jetzt wohl auch bestellen werde. Schade. Die Idee eines Ultimate Guide fand ich sehr reizvoll. Die Umsetzung ist indes eher peinlich.

Como fan de la franquicia no podía dejar pasar la oportunidad de comprar la guía oficial, mas aun conociendo con anterioridad la calidad de las guías pues adquirí hace tiempo la de Skyrim, sin embargo mi sorpresa fue mayúscula cuando me llego un paquete enorme, una caja con una pestaña magnética y dentro una plétora de parafernalia que complace a todo coleccionista. Como se muestra en las fotos, y que no se especifica en la pagina del producto, el paquete trae un mapa de la Commonwealth, un parche y chapas de Nuka Cola con todo y destapador incluido, un calendario (ya no esta vigente obviamente pero el arte que contiene lo vale), y un sobre que contiene ilustraciones del Vault boy en los siete atributos S.P.E.C.I.A.L. y por su puesto la guía, en una calidad inmejorable con una sobrecubierta mate hermosa. Por mi parte quede mas que satisfecho y recomiendo el producto totalmente.
