tiny, mighty, but a bit too angry
I got the 400MB/s. This is my second one. It's full metal so it feels really nice. It is super small so it's very pocket friendly. It is really fast, really holds up to the 400MB/s advertised speed. In fact, it's so small and so fast, I gotta put a leash on it so it doesn't run away. But since it's small and fast, it gets hot. Not skin burning, but still really hot. I was worried so I put a fan in front of it, and it certainly cools down. Overall I'm happy with it.

Perfectly good flash drive.
It's reasonably fast, super compact, and if it's like my old one(16GB, but same build) quite durable.Slight word of warning, it does get HOT in use, but it's actually outputting that heat and getting it away from the flash chips.

Very good USB drive at a good price
This USB drive features both USB A and USB C connectors, making it compatible with older and newer devices. The speed and storage capacity is also good, the drives comes in a variety of different storage sizesThe USB drive is easy to connect and remove and has included software functionality that makes it easy to back up and restore data. The metal construction also provides durability so the drive can last a long time.

Sandisk quality
Tiny, well built and good transfer rate. Just surprises me they unit get really HOT - almost too hot to touch to remove, but hasn't corrupted any data so far. The dual USB/USBC connections are invaluable moving data from old to new computers

Would have passed had I known...
I have the Gold 512GB version of the USB drive and have been using it (for backup storage) for about a year. I absolutely regret getting this drive in such a large size. I intended to backup my system files (think lots of folder and files) and it takes FOREVER to transfer everything. I actually have to break down each folder to click and drag (or simply backup individual zipped files of folders) in order get things transferred in a reasonable time frame. In practice it takes close to 20 minutes to transfer 36 GB of a single zip file. I somehow got an estimate of 8 minutes to transfer 61 MB (yes mega) of three non-zipped folders. The drive is very bad if you are dealing with a lot of small sized files that need branched folder organization (it'll take forever to preview or load for you to select). Even with large files there are much faster drives. The "hot" heat issue is also no joke. This thing heats up within 1 minute of use. If you touch it accidentally, it's not going to burn you. However, if you press it between 2 fingers and hold on, it will absolutely start being intolerable as you will feel the burn. The thermals cannot be good for the drive. I am just going to use it as a secondary / last resort backup at this point. This was totally not worth the money. I also have the Samsung Type C drive (in 256 GB) and that's better than this (granted I am not totally happy with it either as it can a little finicky - but overall way faster and better thermals). I am more happy with the Samsung EVO Plus (1TB) that I paired with an external enclosure. If you need large storage, get an external ssd instead.

Great storage and backup solution for phone!
This is a fantastic product. I had first ordered a SanDisk 1TB Extreme Pro usb drive, which I wanted to use with my Samsung S20 phone for backups and general picture storage. It used a cable for connection. That item is also very nice, rugged, small etc. but it didn't work with my phone, although I'd found references on the web of folks who did get it to work with a phone. But not mine, so I returned it. Glad I did! This SanDisk Ultra 1TB Luxe is even better than the Extreme Pro would have been, for my purposes. No cable! The metal case is easily flipped back and forth between USB C and USB A ports, so it's easy to transfer data between pretty much anything. The Extreme Pro probably didn't work with the phone because it needs more power from the usb port than the phone can supply, but the Ultra is a typical usb stick requiring very little power. Did I mention no cable :-)As you can see in the pictures, I paired it with a magnetic usb port connector. This itself is a wonderful device. I leave the small part plugged into my phone's usb port (see pics), so I never plug things in and out, thus avoiding wear on this mechanical part, and keeping dust out too. I have the matching plugs for charging cables, and now, as seen in the pics, for the SanDisk stick. I can also charge the phone wirelessly, so I never have to fiddle with the usb port. The tiny magnet is very secure, and the magnets are so strong, they magically mate up even from an inch or so away. I recommend this for everyone...don't let your charging port get damaged. So I just let the magnets shake hands to connect. I use CX File Explorer as a file app on the phone. Best app ever, so many easy functions. When I pop the SanDisk on magnetically, a usb icon comes up in the storage devices screen (see pic), and I can easily transfer files. CX can even access my laptop via the wifi router, so I can transfer files from the SanDisk directly to the laptop without going to the phone first. Of course, I could use the usb A on the SanDisk to plug directly into the laptop any way... And, my laptop has a usb C port, which I have a magnet adapter in, so I could slap the SanDisk on that way, again saving wear and tear on the port.Of course the Extreme Pro would have been much faster, if it had worked, but the stick is plenty fast for my purposes. It seems to meet the advertised speed, and I transferred 30 gig of pictures in about 30 minutes, so a gig per minute. Fine for my purposes, although if I was doing more complex things with my laptop, I'd get the Extreme Pro, with its cable, for super fast speed. All in all, a lovely piece of tech.

Perfect Portable Backup for Phone and PC!
This SanDisk 256GB drive is exactly what I needed. It’s compact, easy to carry, and works perfectly for backing up files from both my phone and PC. Super convenient and fast transfer speeds. I use it to store photos, videos, and documents—no issues at all. Great little backup solution!

Drive gets HOT HOT HOT! Like, John Stamos hot.
I really like this drive it's reliable and hefty and solid--but it gets REALLY hot! I transferred 4-5k photos from an old phone to the drive and by the end i could only touch the drive for a second or two it was so hot, without it feeling like an iron. And if I leave it plugged into my PC consistently, it just gets really hot to the touch. I have the plastic variation of this drive and it is much flimsier technically but does not get even close to as hot. The metal body of the drive is basically a big heat sink! So, buyer beware!
