Shower feels better and shower doesn’t get dirty as fast as it used to easy to install and lasts longer compared to others

I started having issues with dry and irritated skin on my face and head not long after moving into my current house. I had never suffered skin problems prior to this. After 6 months of exposure my skin was red, blemished, itching, and flaking. I knew it was the water because whenever I would stay anywhere else for more than 2 days my skin would clear up immediately. Before buying this one, I tried another water filtration system for the shower (the ones with the beads in the shower head) but it was effective for about two weeks.The Phillips system does work but each filter lasts about 4-5 weeks for me. Towards the end of this period I can feel the filter losing efficacy. Soap doesn't lather as well in the shower, there is a noticeable 'residue' when showering which causes friction over my skin, and of course my skin starts to become inflamed and irritable again. When I notice this happening I change the filter and the difference is immediately noticeable. My skin clears up within a day or two, no itching, no redness.When I take the old filter out and shake it, BROWN water comes out of it. It does it's job. I'm not sure what's wrong with the water in my house - I think it's an old iron pipe somewhere that's leaking iron into the supply. The water in my area is generally very soft. The filter works for excess minerals in the water. I'm surprised by how often I need to change the filter based on other people's reviews and what the manufacturer claims - the issue in my house must be really bad!

Been using these for a few years now. My water was professionally tested and found to have a crazy amount of chlorine amongst other high readings. My hair was never clean even straight out of the shower. Felt like there was a film on it. These really help with filtering out what was creating that and my hair is finally clean. I can tell when they have come to the end of their life as my hair will start to feel dirty again. Mine lasts a while as I have it connected to a separate shower head so only use it on hair wash day.

Love these for my hard water area, makes washing my hair possible instead of impossible! Only gripe is I wish they lasted longer and came with more than one refill.

Noticeable difference to our toddler’s eczema. We live in an area with very hard water and would often run the bath only to find it a dull brown colour - thanks Southern Water…!Anyway, purchased this and had noticeable improvements to our water quality. We now fill the bath for our son via the shower head , as changing to this seems to have improved his eczema.Easy to install and looks quite smart, although it is a large unit! Due to our tap setup we put it on the shower head end, which makes the shower clunky but it does the job.Great purchase.

Good for hair

I think it does make a slight difference to our London water, but not sure if it is good value. There is no easy way, apart from dip slide testers, to check if the filter is performing or not and to check when to replace. I prefer this over the cheaper, predominantly Chinese brands, because hopefully Philips have suitable technology and quality systems to back up their advertised features. I replace every 6 to 9 months.
