No More Sore Knees and Elbows!
I must have read close to 100 reviews to find a mat that is easier on my knees and elbows for yoga and PIYO, but does not squish down so I can do my balance poses. From the reviews, the DynActive Fitness yoga mat seemed to fit my needs. I just tried it out in my PIYO class and it performed beautifully, easy on my knees, back and the rest of my body, but firm enough for a tree pose. The only thing I noticed is that it seems a bit more slippery than my old mat and that may be a matter of just using it to break it in. I should qualify that it was NOT very slippery, just slightly more than my old mat. It did not slip on the floor at all though and it was light and easy to carry. I used my Gaiam strap because the elastic strap that came with it is not very sturdy. The PIYO class was particularly challenging, with a lot of planks on our elbows. My friend literally had raw spots on her elbows from using her thin yoga mat, and my elbows were perfectly fine! The only concern I have is that instructions say not to leave it in a hot car. I have been in the habit of leaving my mat in my car so I don't have to cart it up and down, so now I have to remember to bring it home after class so I don't damage the mat which is an inconvenience. However, I am quite happy with this purchase and hope that the mat is sturdy enough to last several years.

Pleasantly Surprised - Great Value.
I was pleasantly surprised with the quality, firmness and size of this mat. I was looking for a thicker mat specifically for Pilates, not yoga. A lot of the mats for Pilates are thick, but very mushy. This mat is thick (7mm is about the width of your pinky finger, or mine anyway), but is quite firm - which was great and a surprise. Since Pilates has a lot of time on the ground and rolling, I needed something thicker for clients and myself. For yoga, I tested all the poses like downward dog, triangle, crow, and had no problem with slippage. This mat didn't have a smell. I have not washed it yet (4-days in), but I think I will only use water mixed with vinegar. I suspect the people with slip problems put a bit of soap in their cleaner, which in my experience is hard to get off mats. Also, if you have pets, be sure to put the mat up after you use it as I had a previous TPE mat and my cats thought it would be great to use to sharpen their claws. In short, great size - a bit longer and wider than the average mat -, good grip, great support and cushioning. Will probably get another one.

I am really happy with this mat
I am really happy with this mat. I've been doing yoga for about a year and purchased this mat to step up my game and start attending classes at a local studio. Like most studios, mine provided mats, but they were thin and small. I am 6' tall and needed a mat that would be long enough. At 72", this does the trick most of the time. Occasionally I will find my foot treading the edge - just a couple more inches would be idea for Shavasana. My two main reasons for purchasing were the carrying strap and the thickness of the foam. The strap works well and is easy to put on and take off. The thickness is perfect - the foam is grippy enough to stay put on the floor, but is cushy enough to provide very necessary padding. My knees are very sensitive to pressure - I can't kneel on hard surfaces due to pain and almost instant numbness. This mat allows me to engage in kneeling positions like Table without pain or numbness. It truly has opened up a lot of possibility as far as my development and abilities with yoga. The foam has a wavy lined texture on the bottom to keep it gripped to the floor. The top has what I can best describe as a stucco pattern - it is smooth but not slippery. I have made it though a lot of moderate-level, somewhat sweaty classes without any slippage. I would and have recommended this to friends looking for a comfortable, well-sized and moderately priced yoga mat.

Not for HOT yoga!
After hours of research I chose this yoga mat because of reviews saying it was great for HOT yoga and the product description which stated the same. I did not find this to be true at all! Not only did the mat slip on the floor as I moved around , I also slipped on the mat after sweating on it. I found it to be VERY slippery when wet which bodes it useless to me because I only practice hot sweaty yoga which includes HIT bursts.I tried to contact this company through their contact sheet on heir website . It doesnt submit and I tried it from three different computers and 3 different browsers. I can not find a phone # anywhere.

Mat too slippery to use
I wanted to love this mat, and I do like the slightly larger size and thicker width. However, it is so slippery I cannot use it. I read the reviews before buying it and saw this issue raised by other reviews. My impression from the reviews, and response from the company to others, was that the slipperiness went away with a little use. Not for me. I have used it almost three months (unhappily) tried washing and scrubbing it with diluted white vinegar and another time with gentle soap to try and remove any slippery coating. I have rinsed it several times in the shower, dried it in the sun and tried everything I could think of to eliminate the slipperiness. Nothing has worked for me and I am giving up.

Still trying it out.....
Nicely made but a bit thicker than I am used to. It does feel like you are standing on a lot more than the typical mats provided in class, which can be nice for some poses, but for standing poses, caused a bit of a "re-set" in my head as I was doing them for the first time on this mat. Also, would appreciate easier markings to identify which side should be up - even prompted a discussion in class with several other yogi's next to me. Otherwise, well made, no issues with the quality. Does have a bit of an odor, which I assume will dissipate. I am trusting it is non-toxic and being patient.
