328 feet for $9.99 is a good deal if you don't mind winding your own. I don't mind putting in a little effort if the cost savings is worth it, and in this case it was. I have to admit, there was a bit of a learning curve, but I eventually got everything wound and loaded. I finally got out today (after a couple weeks) and took care of the lawn, initially forgetting that this was the new string. As far as I can tell, it fed nicely and didn't break off prematurely. This string was every bit as good ‐ better even, than the stuff that came with the weed trimmer. Don't waste time or money with all those fancy shapes, simplicity is best. I will purchase this again when my current supply runs out, which will probably take a few years!

I used it for a Corded Electric Trimmer Yardman MTD straight shaft trimmer. It's a bit slippery and pulls out easily when loading the trimmer head. Requires to rough up the exterior of the line before inserting into the head. Once inserted, if feeds and cuts fine; doesn't bog down the trimmer. It's a good value for the small home owner, no way for commercial or business use.

After seeing the price for replacement spools for the Craftsman line edgers at the big box home improvement stores, I was happy to find this line on Amazon. $10.59 328ft compared to $24.94 for 90 ft (3 pre-spooled) replacements. I had purchased replacements before and now have the extra spools. I read some of the reviews saying how difficult this line is to handle once opened. If anyone is interested I put the string in an old plastic storage container with a cardboard and pvc insert to hold the line in place. Then just fed the line from the center of the spool up through the cardboard and pvc and out of the lid. Then cut the zip ties. Works great, no tangles, easy to pull out what you need. For the past 3 years I've been using one package of this String with my Sun Joe Corded Grass Trimmer. I measure off 9.8 feet and then manually wind it onto the reel that originally came with my Grass Trimmer. Although I was originally motivated to do this because Sun Joe replacement reels were out of stock, now that I've see how easy it is to wind my own reels, and how much money I can save, I'll very likely continue to wind my own! This line gives me the same grass trimming results as I got using original Sun Joe line. What's different, is the money I'm saving!

This trimmer line worked great. Do not remove the tie wraps. The line can be pulled out easily from underneath the tie wraps. Line was easy to load on my existing spool.
