LEM Products 1182 Electric Countertop Meat Grinder (#8)

When we first started grinding I thought we had bought a dud, this is relatively cheap considering other products available. I had two deer that I prepared for grinding, all in all there was 25lbs of meat in my grind. When we first started grinding the plate was getting plugged constantly with the silver skin of the deer and I had barely left any on there, ask my wife she will tell you I wasted the hole deer judging by my waste bucket! After cleaning the plate and blade twice it is like the machine found its stride and ferociously ground the remaining 20lbs of meat effortlessly. It seemed to work best to just slowly drop meat chunks in the feed tube and almost let the weight of the meat push itself through, just keep the tube full. Great product, money well spent after spending years hand cranking my burger out!!

I love this product. It is powerful enough to grind through most tissue. No bones however, which is just fine for me as I want to make ground beef and sausage. Works well for that purpose. If you are concerned about clean up, I discovered that clean up is quite easy if you use a pressurized garden hose to get the meat bits off the components and then wash them in in the sink to get any grease off. If you just go straight to the sink, you get a morass of grease, fat and meat gloppy material that just sticks to the metal components. Very happy with the purchase.

Grinds meat pretty fast...my only dislike is it is very loud.

I used this product during year, about one time in two weeks for beef and veal only. It worked during one year, but then stopped cut the meat and became useless. Bad quality knife. The motor is not powerful too.

So far so good. This was a gift for my Dad. He is a big deer hunter and doesn't let a piece go to waste. He makes a lot of muscle meat jerky and I thought I'd get him something new. He loved it!! The jerky process is a lot less messy and quicker. This grinder literally pulls the meat thru on its own, and has no problem with silver skin. It has a backup part that comes with it in case your first metal auger wheel burns out, and a one year warranty. THIS IS THE GRINDER FOR HUNTERS!! I would suggest getting a jerky gun if bought for jerky purposes. Worth every penny!!

Not enough power and sounds like it is gonna fall apart

Fantastic! Bought this on the fly to replace my broken Weston. No comparison. The blade is beefy, and the overall build is superior. My only complaint is- it is noisy. That aside I made 50# of sausage without so much as a hiccup, and in a third of the time ( the Weston was basically the same size and type of machine.) So far so good. Fingers crossed!

I've ground upwards of 50 lbs of elk with this unit and it's performed flawlessly. I also used the sausage stuffing feature to stuff breakfast sausage with sheep casings. This unit far exceeds it's asking price. I'm extremely happy with this unit.
