ESSENTIAL FOR CCNP EXAM PREP
I have been using Chris Bryant's Cisco exam prep material since the TrainSignal days. His CCNA course helped pave the way for not only passing my CCNA, but scoring exemplary marks on my exam. Last year I was defeated by the 300-115 exam after reading the Cisco OCG book cover to cover three times. I also did several exercises on my home lab. You would think Cisco's OFFICIAL Certification Guide would have all the material required to pass the exam. No offense to David Hucaby, the book is well written just incomplete. When I sat for the test, there were many questions that were not covered. There is nothing more frustrating than to sacrifice countless hours to study for an exam only to have gaps in information. I have been going through the Bryant Advantage Success Series volume for the 300-115 and Chris ACTUALLY explains the grey areas that Cisco failed to cover. I place for the test on 2/20/17 and study for at least four hours every day. I have also been taking Boson practice exams (highly recommended). In the end, this is only an exam. Sure, it may set you back $300 (Cisco or Pearson just increased the exam fees :O), but if you work hard enough you will pass this exam. Even if you fail, this course upgrades your skills as a Network Engineer and that can never be taken from you. Excellent work Chris and I am patiently waiting for your CCDA/CCDP/CCIE courses. ;-)

I've been following Chris Bryant for most of my career as a Network Engineer, and can say his material definitely helped me get my CCNA. I've now made it through this book and the Cisco press book and can say the content is pretty similar. I can also say Chris's writing is a little easier to follow. The biggest difference between this and Cisco Press book is the study resources such as practice questions, memory tables, etc. There were a few annoying typos in there, but I find them in most texts. Overall a good purchase for the price, and will compliment your other study resources. Don't expect any single source to take you to the finish line. This also should be considered as a compliment to his video training.

Not satisfied
I bought the CCNP Switch and Route books and imported them to germany (pricey). What I don't like is the overall formating of the content:Often it's not easy to navigate e.g. it has no detailed Index...!A single site which shows the main content like "Chapter 9 Securing the Switches.....189" but without to mention the details WHAT is covered thereexactly. Also chapter marks at the side(like when the book is closed) are missing. The content itself is easy to read and accurate but I do not rely 100% on this book for prepping for the exam. The book does not use big labs or in generall a lab which grows from chapter to chapter. Questions and Answers to each individual chapter like in the Pearson books are also missing.Big critic:It seems there is no errata for this book --> No GO!Feel fooled by Mr.Bryant:On Mr.Bryant webpage, he clearly advertise his hardcopy with an extra free ebook. What I did was clicking on his link wherethis text baits me >>>Free Ebook w/ Hard Copy<<<So I got directly moved to amazon, where I purchased his work...but I never recieved the ebook. Mr.Bryant does not react on email or at facebook!Meanwhile I can read in the offer on amazon.com at a side note , that the ebook is ONLY available in the USA ...great Cisco Jesus, this Info is not on his website! All in all I'm very disappointed, shipping was not cheap and I believe that Mr.Bryant could do this all better

Excellent Content, Format Issues Resolved!
I was having trouble reading it on my devices because there were 2 pages squeezed onto each page side-by-side which made the print appear more than twice as small as standard, and was nearly impossible to read on my mobile devices without excessive zooming and scrolling. Well the book has recently been reformatted and is much better. Now that I am able to read it, I am finding it to be interesting, relevant, concise, well organized, and well written. Chris has provided good examples which really help the reader understand the concepts, and he has a great way of simplifying the denser content of the Cisco books and extracting the most important points to focus on for the exam. Thanks for such an "on target" book, and I'm updating my review as promised.

Great, easy to read
Very, very conversational tone and easy to read. Probably the best book to purchase to study for CCNP switch. However, there are some details he leaves out that the Cisco Press books contain, some of the more minute stuff. Some of it might be on the test, some might not, depends on what you draw, but I'd say, overall, this is the best book on the market for CCNP Switch.

It's a great book explaining every concept with easily understandable language
It's a great book explaining every concept with easily understandable language. But... I don't think that this book alone is enough to pass the exam. Also, what I found incredibly annoying is that illustrations don't have port numbers identified. When he's explains the illustration, you need to guess which port is which and in a lot of cases, you won't be able to tell. Pretty big pain in the rear.

No fat, just meat!
Very Good read. I like the fact that he got straight to the point cutting off all of the extra bs you get from reading Cisco books. Really entertaining book, I'm planning on take the exam around the end of June. I would give the Book Five Stars but feel that he used to much abbreviations where sometimes I don't know what he's talking about, but other than that this is a excellent book.

I love Chris Bryant and his material but this format is just not good.
I love Chris Bryant and his material but this format is just not good. I am reading the book on Kindle for PC. It shows 2 pages at a time squeezed onto the screen. I don't see a way to make it a single page. The print is kind of small and actual CLI commands in the book are faint. I have a 22 inch monitor and still struggle to read this at times. You can make the print larger but then you have to scroll up and down and sideways to read everything. I am a tech guy and don't like paper but I almost wish I had ordered the hard copy.

Clear and consise
Nice and clear with real world examples. Breaks each section down into manageable chunks, you do need to read around or practice the labs on your own to get full benefit. For the price and the clarity it's excellent. There have been some reviews on the format of the PDF/Kindle, I've been using on Kindle app for ipad and seems ok, yes have to zoom page to right size but nothing seriously wrong with it.I just need to see if it helps me get my CCNP...

Easy to follow
Great book which was well presented and easy to understand/follow, enough with some videos and hands on to pass the CCNP SWITCH no problem.
