They are not as sturdy as is needed for our extra-heavy winter coats. They are fine for light- to medium-weight coats. The extra width helps keep the coats from sagging so much and getting out of shape

19" hanger is great for coats, sweaters, and men's garments in general. Very sturdy, and excellently constructed. Prevents shoulders of shirts from getting hanger bumps/creases.
