Overall I would recommend this futon. At this price point, it is a great deal.You can add some features yourself, making the futon even better.With the mattress installed, you won’t have much fun moving the unit. It is very heavy. Install some trundle casters.I added additional center support legs.Felt padding added to the frame will significantly quiet down and reduce the shock when converting from couch to bed.Felt padding on the upper bed frame will save your wall. I also added acrylic panels to protect mine.

This futon will be perfect for when my husband pushes one to many buttons (or you know, when family comes to visit...). It was easy to put together, the mattress is better than some actual mattresses I've slept on. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a futon!!!

So being a single gal, this was an adventure, trying to get this ton of bricks even in the house let alone get it up the stairs into the area You wanted it!Getting it put together well it’s doable with a friend! Thank God for a great neighbor friend. Literally 2 woman and a Allen wrench.So once you get all the million little pieces together and you stand back and look at it, you think wow this is really amazing then you sit on it and it feels nice and cushy but you’re almost slanted in a little too far I wish it was a little bit more erect. I’m also disappointed because I ordered a light gray futon cushion or mattress (what you call it) I ended up receiving a dark gray one so I was totally bummed out.With that being said…. That damn thing was so heavy, I’m not returning that anywhere for no man!

This is my second Kodiac futon. Excellent mattress and frame.

Like other reviewers, it took 2 hours to assemble with the assistance of the Youtube video they have posted. You will probably want a power tool for the screws, otherwise you have to hand to a couple dozen hex screws with the little tool they provide. You will also want another person for the last couple steps, as otherwise it can be a serious pain to finish.Pros:It is extremely comfortable as a bed and as a couch.It looks fantastic.It is relatively easy to operate.Cons:Assembly can be a little rough if you have a hard time with instructions and don't have someone to help.The section where the mattress folds is a tiny bit less comfortable than the rest when spread out as a bed.They shipped it in 2 different trucks, so I received the arm rests 2 days earlier from the rest of the futon, which was a little frustrating.

Great addition to our little guest bedroom.No problem assembling. We love it!

I never write reviews but wanted to provide some feedback to alleviate those who were, like me, skeptical after reading other reviews. The bed is very sturdy (I'm a bigger guy), is comfortable (this isn't the old futon mattresses you may remember), and, though a little difficult, I am able to convert it single handedly. The instructions were very easy to follow and the hardware was packaged in a way to make it super easy to find. I've slept on the bed several times and it is definitely high quality. If you're on the fence, this is a great purchase for the price point. I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a futon.

It took about 1 hour to put together but it is sturdy and looks good.
