I would recommend it without hesitation
The Slimline Pager worked well and reliably. It provided a major improvement to the quality of life of a bedridden patient and an older, hard-of-hearing caretaker. The pager eliminated the anxiety on the part of both patient ("will I be heard") and caretaker ("do I dare take out my hearing aid to listen to the radio or watch TV"), and reduced the unpleasantness of shouting from room to room.Bottom line: I would recommend it without hesitation.Pros:- Reliable signal (50ft linear, through walls)- Good quality construction - not at all flimsy.- The pager button was easy to press yet well positioned and did not go off by mistake.- The receiver was loud, easily transportable, with just the right bulk.- Flashing light was easy to see as long as it was roughly within the field of vision- Easy setup- 32 different ringtones may sound like overkill, but it isn't. Hard of hearing caretakers will need to cycle through a few different tones to find the ones that they can most easily discern.Cons:- The "off" button (bottom right) used to acknowledge and turn off an alert is small and visually hard to distinguish. We outlined it with a red permanent marker to make it easy to spot.- The "off" button is also the ringtone cycling button. Press once while the alert is active and it will shut off the alarm. If you inadvertently press a second time, or if you miss the alert's timeout and press too late, then you will have to cycle (forward only) through all 32 ringtones. This is just an annoyingly bad design feature.- Visual alert could be brighter. If the receiver is outside field of view (behind you, for example) then the LED is not bright enough to light up the walls and attract your attention.- Sound settings are loud, very loud, extremely loud. There is no quiet option.

10 20 30 or even a hundred stars for this pager
I got this for my mother who lives next door. The pager that you pay a monthly fee for and it caused another person was getting pretty expensive. I believe it was $25 a month and my mother had it for a couple of years. Our finances have gotten a little tighter and I found this on Amazon and it works great. My mother can page me from her house a tie intern call her on the phone. If she doesn't answer the phone in about four or five rings I go over but otherwise her needs have included the cat was punching the buttons on the TV and now I can't get the channel I want, I can't figure out the microwave, and the biggest one is it's either cold in here it's hot in here because she plays with the thermostat and can't not see what she's doing period LOL. But back to the point this alert is absolutely amazing. It has saved us so much money and we've only had to change the battery once in the last couple of years. I highly, and let me repeat I highly recommend this if you have an elderly mother or loved one period or even just a friend who needs help now and then. My mother happens to be 94 and I imagine it won't be much longer before I will need one but I don't know who I will connect with. Probably one of my neighbors. I have no idea the distance between the house is here but if I can reach my mother I can reach anyone when it comes my time. Gee that sounds like I'm going to die but I'm not. By the way you can select the type of music you want to hear when the button is pressed at the other end and also that loudness that you want to hear it period we have ours on kind of loud so if it goes off in the middle of the night it will wake us up. I would give this 10 Stars if I could

Easy to Use Pager
Very easy for the elderly to use and great options for volume & tone for the receiver.

Very nicely designed and made.
This pager is well-made, sturdy and versatile. The range is ample (we tested it from inside the house to the farthest corner of our back yard - a hundred feet or more ). The receiver has many varieties of musical signal or tone and a light which can be used when the caregiver doesn't want a sound signal. I would give this five stars except that there is no provision for the received to be worn on a lanyard or clipped to a pocket. The receiver is just cumbersome enough to be annoying - too tall for a shirt pocket, a bit too thick for it to be comfortable in a pants pocket.... Fortunately, it is sturdy enough to be pocketed anyway. Unlike some other similar items I have had, the lanyard and fastener on the button unit is very well made so it will not give out after repeated un-clippings. I have not tested the water-proof design of the button unit, but it certainly seems to be well sealed.

So far - so good!
I have only had this Alert button for a few days that is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5, I left room for error. I put batteries in and it worked so that is a good start. I tested it: wife sat on the couch and I walked in the back yard 150 feet and when she pressed the button- it alerted me. I have not tested it for more distance yet. Does exactly what is advertised and what I needed. I am not sure how long it will last or how long the batteries will last, but for now it works. I like the fact that you can use the sound or just the "blinking red light" as an alert.

Just what we needed for 98yo MIL
Works perfectly for situation with live-in MIL. She keeps the button in a pocket on her walker and can push it anytime she needs us that we may be out of hearing distance. It's loud enough that we have the box in a centrally located area and don't have to constantly move it--although it is small it could be put in a pocket to go outside (good range around the yard). Multiple alarm sounds to choose from and light also flashes. Low battery indicated by flashing light with not alarm. Battery life is more than sufficient. Recommend changing batteries in both pieces at the same time and keep an extra set so that you are never without.
