No, not to play a Phono. To hear music from a turntable, I plug it into the rear CD/DVD Audio Input and select CD/DVD input on the remote or front panel. The phono works, BUT you must turn the volume way way up near max.

As long as the turntable has speaker wire, RCA, or 1/4" outputs then it can without any kind of adapter.
