Great torque wrench for the home mechanic
I bought this torque wrench after breaking a small bolt while replacing a strut mount with a cheap, box store, torque wrench. Once you have to remove a bolt that you just broke the head off of, you quickly realize that you get what you pay for. The CDI torque wrench is a quality tool. It came with a calibration certificate and a nice plastic case. The tool itself feels solid and the markings are easy to read. The knurling on the handle gives plenty of grip, even when your hands are covered in grime. I have used it several times since I received it and it works flawlessly. It gives a nice audible and tactile click when you reach the set torque. This is a great tool and is very affordable for the home mechanic. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Excellent tool
I brought it to a Mercedes mechanic. He totally approved of it. Excellent tool.

Nice, easy to use and durable torque wrench
Like many shade tree mechanics I have several torque wrenches all with broken plastic handles. This CDI model came with a metal handle/grip that when it gets dropped nothing visibly breaks off. Its well worth the money and based on their calibration looks to be accurate.

Junk. Failed out of the box.
This failed the first time I used it and ruined $40 worth of automotive bolts. Out of the box this torque wrench wouldn't "click"/indicate any torque values with the torque settings in the range of 16-25 ft/lbs.

best value for your money
I was in the market for a torque wrench for car maintenance. I had an old-style bar-type from Craftsman which was difficult to use correctly. This is my first click-type torque wrench and it hopefully it will last me many years to come. The markings on the side are easy to read and the controls are intuitive to set your desired torque (either ft-lb or nm). Only complaint I have is that several times while using it I accidentally moved the torque setting, I wish the mechanism that holds the setting in was more rigid.

Just like a Snap-on torque wrench
I have a 1/2 Snap-on torque wrench which I used to compare against this wrench. I notice the design is essentially the same for both wrenches, but this torque wrench had the opposite direction selector. With the selector turned to the right you will tighten, while left is loosen. I guess they try to match that with the saying "lefty loosy, righty tighty?" The clicks are not as apparent compared to the Snap-on but it does click. I like that it came with its own calibration sheet which is nice to see. A piece of paper telling you your specs is better than a company telling you through advertising. Overall, I'm really impress with the quality for the price. I'm about to buy their 1/4 drive torque wrench to complete my set.

The Quality Talks
Before writing my review about this torque wrench I'd start with advice. If you're ever buying precious tools such as measurement tools always ask for the quality that you can trust because miss measuring something would decently lead for failure. I did a lot of search for proper torque wrench to use in car repair and I've found a lot with different prices and different quality as it wasn't easy to come up with correct one. CDI seems to be specialized in torque wrenches and that was my first impression to buy this torque wrench because specialized companies focus on product quality pretty well, the price of this torque wrench wasn't the best and not the worst, $111 is reasonable for its quality. Upon unpacking the shipment I start feeling the great quality of it, the scale is pretty clear and easy to read, adjusting the torque very smooth and lock works very smooth too. The ratcheting mechanism works smooth with no looseness. easy to clean with mirror finish and metallic tough grip for proper handling. I had it on real work for about six months and it still looks like new and works like new, same smoothness of ratcheting mechanism same smoothness of adjusting torque setting and it just clicks where you want it to be. It's made in USA and some inner parts are imported, BUT who cares, the quality talks. and i also bought two different torque ranges. Bottom line; buy it with full confidence if you have cars to maintain 10-100 ft/lb is almost what you may need.

Excellent!!!
Purchased this to torque down bolts on my motorcycle. Also started using it for the truck as well, but I'll be purchasing the 30 - 250 ft. lbs. as I need more than 100ft. lbs for the truck. Very well made, and was shipped fast. For the price, you can't go wrong and it's a Snap-on company. It's very easy to use, the locking mechanism to set the torque is well made and sets very easily. Pull down and twist the wrench. It's a little easier to read and set the ft. lbs. vs. the nM because the ft. lbs. are lined up on even numbers, (e.g. 10, 20, 30, etc.) and the nM are on decimals (23.7). The instructions recommend that you don't drop it or you may need to have it recalibrated, so take good care of it.
