One smooth shave that won't nick you face or wallet
I really have not experienced what the more negative reviews reflect. I think this multi-blade system just has it all over the big name US brands and the price is so much better. The blades position in the handle does take a bit of getting used to but once you are comfortable finding your grip, the razor just flat out gets it done. Since I have a full beard I primary use a razor to keep my neck and cheeks clean. The King is fabulous at cutting in precise clean lines that are nearly as good as a professional men's barber with a straight edge could do.If you want a super clean shave with this razor you do need to be aware of "the grain" of your growth in the different parts of your face and go against and not with the grain. Unlike my double edge I need less preparation of the skin prior to shaving and far less risk of nicking myself. If you look at this product price when compared to similar offers from the Big Two in addition to its outperforming them IMHO, you can'y go wrong.

Good but not Amazing
To start out it was definitely one of the top most comfortable shaves I've ever had, and the self lubricating cartridge works as promised without the need of shaving cream of gels irritation free, HOWEVER the weird blade angle design takes getting used to and the built in 1 blade "edging" razor for sideburns and hard to reach areas is practically useless as it seemed like a dull blade that didn't trim well at all. After I finished shaving I didn't feel like I received as close of a shave as some of the more popular model razors. I wouldn't go and trade in your favorite razor for this one quite yet people. However if you are an on the go type person or need a quick comfortable shave, I think this could be a nice tool to have in your bag.

Had the best shave of my life today
Had the best shave of my life today! I had decided to try a different razor after using the Mach 3 for a decade and a halfish. I tried the dollar shave club 4 bladed razor and hated it. It tore up my face and had a really weird angle on the handle. Today I received in the mail the King of shaves hyperglide razor and the MERKUR 34c. (I am still waiting on my Harrys razor to show up per a recommendation). I tried the hyperglide on one side of my face and the MERKUR on the other side. The hyperglide was excellent! It was a very smooth shave with fewer passes than the Mach 3. The blades have a patented super hydrophilic coating that create a microscopic barrier between the blade and your skin. It was very smooth. I did nic myself once though. I think due to the odd angle of the handle. It bends away from the face rather than towards the face which is different from any other razor I have ever used. Hair did get stuck between the blades but a quick rinse and the whiskers came out nice and easy. I truly enjoyed the the shave. On the other side of my face I used the MERKUR 34c with feather blades. This razor is a double edge safety razor rather than today's standard cartridge style razors. This thing was amazballs! Any double edge blade will fit this razor. I bought a blade sampler package of different manufacturers but tried feather first. This thing was crazy smooth and had no irritation. The short handle is great for how I like to shave. The handle has a nice heft. Other safety razors have various length handles but the short handle was a personal preference for me. The control of the single blade was so much better especially for edge work on the side burns and goatee over the multi blade cartridge razors. I can't say this enough.... Best shave ever!Costs Mach 3 approx $10 for handle $3 per bladeKings shave hyperglide $10 for handle and $4 per bladeDollar shave club first handle free And $1.50 per blade but you have to sign up for monthly mailings. Canceling the subscription was not as easy as it should have been and you have to sign up for the subscription just to try it out. After I canceled they did offer me my money back. The hassle of canceling + the offer for my money back are a bit of a wash in my book. The MERKUR 34c was $30 for the handle and blades are $0.10 each. I also sprung for a 100% Badger hair shaving brush $15 and chrome stand $15 and some shave soap. The old school safety razor is fantastic! It's a bit more up front cost but ongoing replacement blades are far cheaper. On quality of shave alone the old school safety razor is far superior to all the cartridge razors ( and disposables) I have ever tried. Though the Mach 3 and the kings shave hyperglide do produce nice shaves. The old school safety razor produces a smoother better shave and has lower long term costs. (break even point including shave brush and stand is somewhere around a year depending how may blades you go through) The MERKUR with the stand and brush are also classy as hell! For traveling I think I will either go with the King of shaves hyperglide or the Harrys razor (pending trial). But for home I'm going with the Merkur 34c all the way!

Simply did not like this razor...
I'm fairly obsessed with shaving. I have a thick, tough beard but a sensitive face. I've tried so many different shaving products its absurd. Although I was super happy with my Gillette Proglide Power with Flexball, I wanted to try this to see if it was even better, or even the same, but cheaper.Whoever said that this is better than the Proglide either works for King of Shaves, or has not tried both of these razors. I realize that everyone's face is different, but I honestly cannot see someone liking this razor better. It was uncomfortable and at one point I thought I even cut myself - something I haven't done in like 20 years when we used single blades. It was so slippery it slid over my face but did not take off my whiskers close. I had to put pressure which hurt my face just to try to get a reasonably close shave. I ended up with a sore face and a terrible shave. I actually had to finish the job with my Proglide just so I wouldn't look and feel ridiculous all day.The one area that this blade excels over the Proglide is with the edge trimmer on the end of it. For some reason, I'm able to get the part right under my nose better with this one than with the Proglide.I actually love King of Shaves products. In fact, I think their Kinexium Shaving Oil is hands down the best shaving product there is. It comes in a small, light container which doesn't take up any room, and is a plastic container so if you drop it, it won't take off your toe or chip your porcelain or tile. It says to use 1 or 2 squirts, but I use only 1 and I get an unbelievably close and comfortable shave every time. It's clear, so you can see exactly what you're doing when you shave. 1 bottle lasts forever so it's very economical.I realize this isn't a review about Kinexium Shaving Oil, but I just want to be clear that my review of the razor is honest and not meant to bash King of Shaves. They make amazing products. The razor is just not one of them. One thing I did love about the Razor is the suction cup holder that came with it. That is such a great idea and that alone makes the product kind of worth it. I'll be using that to store my Proglide razor to my shower wall.Stick to Gillette Proglide Fusion Power with Flexball for the absolute best shave there is. If you want to save money, but still want a great shave, get the Mach 3 Sensitive. That's still an amazing razor (not quite as good as the Proglide) for like a fraction of the price. Buy products from King of Shaves that actually work well (like Kinexium Shaving Oil) but stay away from this razor.

Opinión personal
Me parece buena maquina y con un diseño muy novedoso, pero la verdad no como la gama de las gillete.

Day 1 . Lubed, Smooth and Shiny.
Every man learns a lesson in life; which is without enough wet you wont have the slide that makes it comfortable. The hyperglide is a Razor without the foam, without the gel, without the need brush or bristle. However you are not going to want to take this blade on a few seconds under a hot tap then to your face. This is the blade for the shower shaver, the morning routine that tries to minimise your time. Your face still needs to be soaked and give those cheeks a damn good massage with your finger tips. Slide that razor under the shower head get it wet , watch it glisten then let it slide. My poor old badger brush looked a little jealous as it sat unused and unlathered this morning.. This is the blade for the traveller; this is the blade for the overnight , the is the blade for the family dad with not enough me time in the morning. But this is the day 1 review; so lets talk about this after a fortnight okay. But for now if you are planning a trip, or expecting an overnight stay this is the system for your washbag.

No tiren su dinero a la basura.
Verdaderamente terrible.

A very uncomfortable and bad shave. This is more proof that more than three blades is a waste. The manufacturers must know this but put it out there as a gimmick for a quick buck.I used this strictly as directed and got an average closeness and uneven shave the first 3 or 4 shaves. Then just plain lousy rough ones after that.I was happy to toss it out after just 5 shaves. I usually get many more and better shaves with my Mach 3.I will never experiment again.

Worth considering
I tried one of these out of curiosity. It does give a close shave although I'm not convinced the 'hydrogel' makes that big a difference. The 'tuning fork' shape of King of Shaves razors takes a little getting use to but it does discourage applying too much pressure to your skin. If you're dissatisfied with your current razor I'd suggest giving one of these a go. Personally I find the Gillette Mach3 turbo suits me better (although I do find the name needlessly macho).
