Paradigm Shift PW-Amp Wireless Amp (Black)

This technology is not ready for prime time. DTS PlayFi has a slick looking app, that ends up being infuriating to use. The professional reviews I've read are spot on. There are long pauses between songs whether played from local storage or internet stations, there are often digital clicks at the beginning or end of songs, and high quality tracks seem to generate a fair amount of digital distortion. The app, on whatever device you are using, must stay open and connected during playback. There is no music queue, so playing albums or playlists work fine, but browsing and adding songs as you are listening is impossible.I was excited about the possibilities of this device, because of Anthem Room Correction. The ARC process was somewhat smooth, but it took several reboots of my router and of the PW-Amp before everything worked. Yes music sounded better after ARC. Classical and music with high dynamic range sound great except for the bizarre digital distortion on prominent instruments during quiet parts like flutes. Pop music also sounded great but was somewhat conservative on the bass side. This is likely due to tuning perfection and not being able to easily adjust the output curve to listening tastes.Now for the unit itself. It clearly isn't well shielded. During the install, connection, and update process discernible digital noise could be heard though the speakers. All other devices were off in it's vicinity, so it is a defect of its internal design. It also clicked and popped on power cycling as capacitors charged and discharged.Some will read this review and call me a Sonos fan boy, because yes, the Sonos app is much better, but I honestly wanted the PW-Amp to be amazing. Now I have to figure out how to connect digital room connection between my Sonos connect and amplifier. I had extremely high hope for this. It didn't meet expectations, and I am returning it.

Reasons to buy:1. ARC2. ARC3. ARC4. Enough power for most speakers.That's it.

I think this is a nice little streaming amp. DTS Play fi while isn't perfect is a way to stream music free with an Amazon Prime account. Drives my Klipsch Forte nicely
