Stunning book!
I shopped at Big Biba back in the 1970's, and this book does justice to the most amazing store I've ever seen. It was a total immersion experience going into that store, full of Art Nouveau and Art Deco glamour. Their makeup counter was the most fabulous thing I've ever seen: sales staff done up in the most amazing colors. One color was the theme for each person: Yellow eye shadow, yellow blush, yellow lipstick; green shadow, green blush, and green lipstick, etc., and it was gorgeous!

Picture Quality Low
The picture quality in the book are low. Dark and difficult to see really. The information provided, however, is great. Interesting.

Fascinating.
This book makes me want to go back in time and step out in 60's London and experience Big Biba. Such a great story with so many fantastic photos that really capture the punkiness of the atmostphere. Great book. I highly recommend experiencing Big Biba.

Wonderful Memories of Big Biba
This book brought back the wonderful world of Big Biba. I was 19 and in London for the first time when my friend and I walked into Big Biba. What an amazing site--I felt like Alice in Wonderland just stepping into a fantastic new world. We had never seen anything so splendid, creative, beautiful. We didn't have much money to spend but I bought eye shadow, lipgloss, and grapefruit face toner. I kept the bottle for years as a keepsake. I wish the book had even more photos but the ones that are in it are wonderful. What a great way to relive these memories! I recommend this book for anyone interested in fashion, design, the 1970's, or if you were ever lucky enough to have visited Big Biba.

A really beautiful book!

The book reflects its title.
For those not old enough to remember Biba, this is a revelation. For those who do, this is a fabulous reminder of the style that Biba created that transformed fashion in the late 60s/early 70s.

Mainly photos
I read this book after the one entitled THE BIBA YEARS. It was a good follow up. It contains many photos, some of them full page. There is a text to explain and give information, but it is quite short. The stress is put on information, not story telling. Reading this book is like walking in the shop. The quality photos take you on a guided tour of Big Biba but does not tell you how it was born. That is why I think it provides a good complement to THE BIBA YEARS. Big Biba was an amazing shop, I discovered it through the book and I am very sorry I couldn't visit it. BIG BIBA : INSIDE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL STORE IN THE WORLD is a delightful and magnificent book to flick through, however, remember that it does not tell you the story.

Biba fan must have
Not as big as the original publication (which was BIG), this is still a great edition, still comfortably large. And it’s the total, complete package for the Biba fan who wants to know everything about Big Biba, the sumptuous, enchanting Biba department store.

Beautiful book, excellent pictures
A must have if you're into Biba. Though it only focus on the last Biba shop, , the book contains beautiful quality pictures, a highly visual trip through the store, plus the instore magazine published on the opening and a lovely retro bookmark. If you like Art Deco, fashion, and a bit of the 70's glitter, that's a book for you. Biba will always be a big loss, something that we probably will never experience ever again because it was something of its own time. It was high time someone paid a tribute to the the wildest retail fantasy ever achieved (check also the great other books on the subject 'The Biba Experience' and 'In Biba').
