I use this harness to carry multiple plastic grocery bags to the customers. Works great for going upstairs

Helps relieve strain on your arms
The real solution to pain from lifting heavy objects is to stop lifting heavy objects. If you must, this harness at least takes some of the strain from your arms and shoulders. Your back and legs still support the whole weight so if they are strong, you're good. If you have back or leg issues, you're just moving the pain from one place to another. I'll still use these but with lower expectations.

It is adjustable.
At 5ft 6in, I almost didn’t buy it because of the reviews about it being too long. I just had to hook it in the second loop from the end (where my thumb is in the picture). There are two more loops to make it even shorter. It worked great for carrying two 5 gallon buckets of maple sap a half mile back to the house.

not bad, but short people will need to modify it
I just got it today and tried it out with a few 5-gallon buckets loaded with an 8" concrete block dummy load each. (This is the off season, but in building season I'll be carrying 1/2 buckets of concrete which are considerably heavier.)When you're 60, you'll notice you have to be more gentle on your elbows and finger joints. This really does help you with that. I was concerned that the buckets would be swinging and slamming into my legs, but it seems like, while that could happen, it only takes minor effort to avoid. My being 5' 8", the harness would have been better about 2" shorter on each side. The harness is not at all adjustable, but it would be fairly easy to shorten the straps with a sewing machine and some strong nylon thread.I was concerned that those black buckles were nylon or some type of plastic. Nope. They're 1/8" thick steel plate and feel plenty strong. If you're in the market for this, especially if you don't have broad shoulders, consider also an ancient invention they call a "shoulder yoke". It's basically a bar for carrying a (balanced) weight on each end. The advantage of the shoulder yoke is that it keeps the load clear of your legs and feet. I'm thinking of making one out of bent round aluminum tube and foam pipe insulation (for padding).

A bit too long
I'm 5'10" and the straps were a tad too long to really support the buckets. Had this been adjustable, I probably would have ended up using it more.

When water is frozen this makes it easier to carry buckets.
Makes the buckets steadier so doesn't spill as much water out of them when walking.

Functional
These straps are good to help you spread the load of carrying buckets. I have to take out a lot of concrete from my basement and bring it up, these straps help make the job faster and without causing me to break my back.
