The Ultimate Player's Guide to Minecraft

I've ordered a few various Minecraft books for my son for Christmas, this was probably the most thorough and well written ones with plenty of colorful photos. I'm sure he'd love it but I opted to send it back since there is a second edition of it out. Admittedly, on this books listing it does show there is a newer version of this product available - which I didn't notice. Strangely enough, Amazon buries the second edition version if you search for minecraft under books. Maybe a way to help move old inventory since the newer version of this book notice is easy to miss. Had the second edition of the book not been a part of the black friday special today, I wouldn't have known it even existed. So I ordered that one and this one will be going back.

As a parent trying to play with my son, a game I find difficult ("It's so easy, Mom!") this book has helped already. The Kindle books I own are fine, but to have an actual book in my hand makes it so much easier look things up while playing. This has been a great addition to my Minecraft reference library, and by far the most useful to me.

Great book for new and advanced Minecrafters. My son is 11 years old and was able to dive right in to the book and benefit from the content.

He's gotten Minecraft for Dummies, as well as Minecraft the essential handbook and Minecraft Redstone. This is his favorite book of all of them because he says it's the most in depth, plus he likes all the pictures. This is mostly for people who play the game on a PC, not the Xbox - but I think he said there was some Xbox stuff in there. He says it's just slightly out of date because there have been updates in the game since it was written, but he was not too put off by that. He still consults this book a bunch.

this book was my first choice when i saw it online. it has everything from making an account and downloading the game to installing mods and resource packs. it was a very detailed book and i used to suck at redstone but it has a whole section that has information. all over the book are helpful tips cautions and notes that can help you do things easier. 13 CHAPTERS!!! the best book to get if youre a noob, beginner, or even a advanced minecrafter. i love it! i was a noob till i got the ULTIMATE GUIDE TO MINECRAFT

I know this is the "ultimate" guide but it didn't help me much. I did use it with a particular young client I had in counseling and that child thought it was very interesting but not terribly helpful to him. Full of information and probably helpful to some but not so much to myself and my young client.

My grandson loved his book, as did his dad, too. They love the game and the guide book was just the next thing to help them do so much better on the game. Fabulous value and quality.

There is a lot of helpful information that is not easily obtained online in one place. The organization of the book could be improved, maybe with just a couple pages dedicated as a crafting reference, but other than that I would recommend the book for anyone who wants a head start playing the game.
