This product is absolutely fabulous. It is a cooked product prior to being freeze-dried. There is absolutely no concern for bird flu with this product.All of the people that are complaining about the crumbling and the "dust"? It's because the freeze-dried product is fragile and it crumbles easily! That is one of the best things about this product.That dust is a gold mine! It is literally the best cat food topper on the planet, LOL. You take the dust, you don't have to crumble it up in your fingers and you just sprinkle it on top of their food as an extra treat.When they're feeling sick or have chronic illness and need temptation to eat. If you're putting that on top of their food, something that they love, they're going to want to eat their food more.I actually have one of my seasoning bottles that when I finished using it, I washed it out really super well, made sure it was dry and put my dust in there and then just shake it on top of my cat's food.They eat it up consistently without fail every time.I wish they would take the dust that is generated during manufacturing and the crumbles and bottle it with a shaker top on it and then sell it because then I wouldn't have to buy these big bags, lol.

Cats LOVE these treats, even all the “dusty” stuff at the bottom of the bag doesn’t go to waste. It can make a mess but it’s worth it for how much every cat ever loves the simple, dehydrated chicken. Just make sure they go slow because it is so dry, a big piece not chewed well (one of my cats swallows and doesn’t chew) can cause some choking so I break up bigger pieces and monitor them. You could add some water to rehydrate them, too.

I soak pieces to rehydrate (she will eat them either way). My cat is a picky eater, so happy to find a shelf stable nutritional treat for her! Will Definitely be ordering this again

Impressive, the most well packed for QUALITY and freshness that I will ever find. In all these years, no one has come close so this is a manufacturer that is taking the extra time to ensure a quality product every time. Double packaged with the inner package vacuum sealed. Not only does this preserve freshness, but it’s really hard to break these pieces when they’re tight together. Brilliant idea! There’s also plenty of large and medium sized pieces, the first time I’m actually feeling like I’m getting what I paid for in a great way. If every company would do this with a thing it would be.

I really like how these are only one ingredient, they easily break apart, but the bag is very small. Great healthy treat or topper.

Every morning, my boyfriend gives our cat her freeze dried chicken. She’s been eating Whole Life for years at this point. We trusted them because they say their chicken is cooked prior to freezing. We’ve ordered and reordered their products dozens of times on Amazon. Pebbles, our cat, always eats it all up.Which is why when I noticed one piece left over, moved by her off her mat but uneaten, I thought it was strange. I bent down to get it and was shocked to find it was cold, rubbery, chicken. NOT freeze dried, at all. Wasn’t sure if it was raw or cooked so tore it open and it spread like buying a refrigerated rotisserie chicken at the grocery store.I am so happy my cat did not eat this piece and that she knew it wasn’t safe. But I am terrified that she had it in her mouth and moved it out of the way. And I’m terrified that she has been eating from this bag that was packaged with this inside it and was eating pieces touching this piece the whole time, today included.I just finished sending an email to the company. I order the big size bags always so I just have the inner plastic bag and no longer have the outside shell bag that has date codes products codes etc. on it so I’m not sure how much help that will provide to Whole Life. I just hope they take this seriously. There needs to be a recall.I’m so scared for Pebbles. Throughout all this bird flu stuff, I’ve always tried so hard to do the best for her and research everything she consumes. Just makes me not want to trust any food for her anymore, I don’t know what to do. I can only imagine the bacteria a long ago packaged, sitting out in room temperature, piece of chicken would have on it.Stay away from Whole Life.EDIT:I spoke to Whole Life on the phone. They went over their practices with me. They have no clue how this happened. I feel comforted that this error will never occur again after listening to how many steps their products go through. I believe this was a million to one bad luck. The owner, the production line, the whole office, has gone over what happened. I appreciate how much Whole Life cares. It’s unfortunate that no one has a theory on how this happened, but that’s because of how impossible it is that it happened in the first place it seems. Regardless, it did happen, so I will be leaving this review up still to inform others. We (tentatively) will continue using Whole Life at this point after speaking with them. I want to still trust them and want to still believe they’re one of the good guys of the pet food world.

All my cats love this! They love it dry in large chunks or when I soak it in water. It is very dusty, but they eat their wet food better with the dust from the bottom of the bag sprinkled on top. It smells like fresh chicken when rehydrated.

While my cats didn’t mind eating them, I feel there are better snacks and toppers to use that aren’t as expensive. I won’t be getting it again.There was a lot of powder and crumbs in my package so not sure if that’s consistent with the brand or what but I just thought it was odd. Almost like it’s coated in chalk.It’s high quality for sure but again I’d lean towards finding something less expensive and just as good quality. I probably won’t get this product again.
