Salter Nutri-Weigh and Go Nutritional Scale

Although this unit did not work upon my receipt, I must say that the customer service was spot on. They immediately issued me a return for free mail return with in 18 hours of my complaint email. The unit would flash on for a brief second then go back off.

I bought this scale after reading about it in "O," Oprah Winfrey's magazine. It is a good, reliable scale with a calorie and nutrition computer that can help you keep track of your daily calorie and food group intake.It is not, however, purse size. The scale is no smaller and lighter than the Salter food scale that I use at home. It folds up, and has a nice little carrying sack, but is tote-bag rather than small-bag size and weighs about the same as my home scale. Also, my on-line diet program is easier to use than the Salter computer and, not surprisingly, also includes more foods and features.While I will definitely take the "Nutri-Weigh and Go" with me when I travel, it is not going to travel with me on my daily commute to and from the office. I carry too much "stuff" with me already, and the "Weigh and Go" is just not portable enough to make the cut. (Hint: use the office postal scale to weigh your food; the mail room clerks will laugh at you, but it works.)

When my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, we were told by our doctors to purchase a food scale. This brand in particular was suggested. We decided to buy the smaller, travel size over the larger more expensive one to see how much we would be using it first. Well, we use it everyday and travel with it to family parties and daycare. It comes in handy when trying to get an idea about the amount of carbs in a particular serving of food. I would suggest it to a friend, but will most likely be purchasing the larger one in the future so that we dont have to get taking it out and putting it away 3-4 times a day.

I purchased this scale because my 10 year old was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. We need to count carbs to figure out how much insulin to give her. This scale is perfect for travel as it is light weight and folds up to fit in her Diabetes tote bag. I love that foods are already programmed in- all I have to do is weigh the item, spell out the food, and up pops all the nutrition information! This has made my life SO much easier and I am confident that it is accurate because I spot check the information with food labels. She is able to eat foods at school now because I have a way to figure out how many carbs she will be eating. On pasta lunch day I go to the lunch room and weigh her pasta, she takes her insulin, and can eat the same lunch as all her friends. I highly recommend this scale if you are looking for a portable scale for figuring out nutrition information. i love this scale! the built-in food database makes weighing a breeze. i use it for my 5 yr old who is a type 1 diabetic. there are many features on it and it's simple to navigate. the title of the product is a little deceiving because it made me believe it was a small scale that i could take on the go. if you're taking it "on the go" be prepared to have a backpack, etc. as it will not fit in a purse. other than that it's wonderful! it comes with a protector pouch. great for diabetics who need the carb-count.

I love this little scale. It makes it very easy to know exactly how much you are eating of something, down to the gram. It also tells you the nutritional data of common foods. If I measure an apple, I can input the type of apple and it will tell me the complete nutritional content, based on weight, of the apple. Its small and handy and could probably fit in my purse.

This scale is much larger than I expected. But I knew that from reading other reviews. It is nice for my condo and i dont have much counter space but I wouldnt take it anywhere with me as it is too big. It does have errors sometimes. When it does, i put something heavy on it and turn it on and then reset the weight and it works fine. Kind of annoying but it is what it is.

This food scale is excellent and I use it all the tine to weigh my food. It's awesome and a lot cheaper than the Weight Watcher food scale. I would recommend it to every dieter.
