Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Disk Accessory

I never thought I'd get another opportunity to have one of these! An absolutely kick ass childhood memory!! One trick I found about putting this back into stand by mode, you need to move the 2 arms into position like in the photo, and hold it for a few seconds. I'd give more stars if I could.

My son adores this duel disk. Until I saw it, I couldn't imagine how anyone could create something like the disks that we see in the series, but this is a great adaptation! Playing with the disk improves his fine and gross motor skills. The counter is helping with his math skills as he subtracts from his scores while he duels. The lightweight construction means that he can engage in imaginative play with the disk for quite some time before he has to rest his arm. The disk folds into stand-by mode for easy storage. It goes great with his Yu-Gi-Oh! costume and dueling glove. This is one excellent toy!

I just wanted to balance out the overwhelmingly positive reviews of this toy here. This is not a bad toy, and my six-year-old son loves it beyond all reason. Of course, he tells me he's "in training" to become a Duel Monsters champion when he can compete -- in six years.But my son and I actually play the game by the rules, and if you plan on using the Duel Disk Launcher for that purpose, you're probably going to be annoyed by it. It was clearly designed by someone who doesn't play the game, since it has a few obvious problems.One: The life point counter is only four digits. I've played more than one duel where life points went higher than 9990 (the highest possible on this toy). I've had LPs over to 12000 (thanks to cards like the Dancing Fairy).Two: The LP counter's units digit is permanently set to zero. Certain card effects (for example, the Time Wizard) can leave you with LPs with a 5 in the units place. Lucky for me I keep paper backups.Three: The Graveyard is too small for a full duel.Four: The card slots will beat up your cards pretty badly if you're not careful. Not that I'm trying to keep our cards mint (I'm playing with a six-year-old, after all) but I'd prefer if my brand-new Blue Eyes White Dragon weren't split at every corner from my son's trying to tuck it into the Duel Disk slots.Five: There's no place to keep a Fusion Deck. My son keeps his under the Field Magic space.Six: Your kid had better be more dextrous than mine when it comes to shuffling, drawing, and otherwise manipulating the cards one-handed.Okay, so maybe I'm being overly picky for a kids' toy, and if my son doesn't just think this is the best toy of all time. I'm sure he'll be looking for it on eBay twenty years from now. But I want people to know what they're buying. And, heck, I'm training the future Andre Agassi of Yu-Gi-Oh! Nothing's too good for him!

I bought two duel disks when they first came out & two weeks later my son was almost attacked in the street because they sold out so quickly, no one could get there hands on one. Anyway that was just to let anyone who doesn't know, how insanely popular Yu-Gi-Oh is. Now that they're readily available I feel comfortable letting my son take his outside again. Soooo...it's the actual duel disk from the cartoon & I like it. We have some crazy fun duels just about anywhere. So if you happen to live in NYC & see a grown man (with his son of course) walking around with a duel disk on, it may be me. On the negative side, it does open up very hard & if held wrong that's an eye out. Also it's kinda heavy after holding it in "duel mode" for a while. But overall a Yugi fans dream toy.

Loved the yu-gi-oh duel disk. It meet our expectations. Works great, lights work(seller wasn't sure if the lights would work) and since they did it made my son really happy. Product is in excellent shape.

Ich bin sehr zufrieden damit und hatte schon viel Spaß damit mich in meine frühere Kindheit hinein zu versetzen, als ich noch viel mehr Yu-Gi-Oh gespielt habe.

Die beigefügten Batterien waren natürlich nicht mehr zu gebrauchen.Karten können nur ohne Sleeves genutzt werden wodurch sie natürlich jedes mal beschädigt werden.Ein reines Cosplay Produkt wenn man in betracht zieht das man vermutlich der einzige ist der eines benutzen würde.Verhältnismäßig schwer dafür das es nicht aus Aluminium sondern aus Plastik ist.Für Link-Duelle fast nicht nutzbar...Trotz allem finde ich es klasse das dieser Prototyp es auf den Markt geschafft hat. Es gibt bereits Nachfolgemodelle doch wird es wohl noch einige Zeit benötigen bis jemand ein Universal-gerät für alle Kartenspiele in einem täglich nutzbaren Material mit angepasster Größe entwickelt und vertreibt.

its really good for kids and fun. but, the problem is to get another one for the other duelist. nyeh.
