I've been taking Turmeric/Curcumin capsules for a while now because my dad has Alzheimer and I want to protect my own often-faulty memory. But a few weeks ago a massage patient told me her healthcare practitioner suggested she double her dosage of turmeric, which she takes for pain relief associated with rheumatoid arthritis. I'm a massage therapist, and my wrists and hands have been hurting me a lot for the past six months or so, so much that I was concerned that I would either have to get surgery or find a new career. I decided to try doubling my dose (from one 500mg capsule daily to two). Within 24 hours my pain had gone down by probably 75 - 80%. It was such a huge difference, so quickly, that I thought something else must have been at play also, but I couldn't think of anything else I was doing differently. It's been about three weeks now, and the pain is still minimal to completely gone, even after a long day massaging. I've definitely started suggesting this to my patients. On a side note, I have only recently begun taking Blue Sky Naturals turmeric; I've tried several brands. In my opinion, the main advantage is that all the turmeric is inside the capsules and they are clean. Since turmeric stains badly, this is a big advantage, and all of the other brands I've tried had loose powder in the bottle. We'll see how subsequent bottles are, but for now I'm sticking with BSN.

MESSY!! The capsules are not well sealed and were covered in the ingredient dust which also got on my hands when I was dispensing them. Probably will go for tablet form next order.

My sister told me about the anti-inflammatory principles of turmeric and this is the brand she gets. The black pepper is very important as it dramatically increases the absorption of the turmeric. I started taking about 4 grams a day (what my research online suggested for an acute injury) because I've been fighting tendonitis in my shoulder. The pain had been excruciating for a couple of weeks, and it was seriously handicapping me. Within a couple of days I noticed a significant improvement. It has been a week now, and although not completely gone, the pain is drastically reduced. This stuff really works! I will continue taking it, and will definitely re-order!

It has a funny smell. It doesn't seem to be working as good as the last brand I used. However, I was happy to see it was made in America.

There are three products on Amazon that have the Turmeric extract standardized to 95% curcuminoids. This product gives you 120 capsules each bottle. Also, the serving size is two capsules, not three. I take this for my plantar fasciitis - it helps with the inflammation and pain.
