As soon as the pkg arrived my son was intrigued. He quickly opened the box ( a great box for storing the cards in! ) and started reading through all the cards, acting out the actions and having fun with them. We use flash cards to help his vocabulary/spelling in homeschooling. There are numerous action words and we find them to be very helpful that the word is also used in a sentence for context. For any kids who are Right Brained learners, the photo of the action along with the word print is a bonus in helping the word stick in memory. The back of the card has the word alone and a sentence using the word, too. There is also a Terrific Tips for Helpers activities card included with ideas for using the cards in various ways. Super helpful and fun! We plan to order more cards.

Perfect for review and helping my ESE resource groups! Laminated them and use them as examples for sentence structure. Works well with using dry erase boards to have students at their pace write their own sentences using picture cards as a reference. You can also use the cards to do cooperative learning exercises with show down timed responses on dry erase boards depending on the students ability to respond. I give my kids extra think time. The cards are a great supplement to any reading program to reinforce grammar and sentence structure. Hope this helps!

These are great to use to work with students whose parents can't help them because they don't read English. The front has a picture clue. The back is just a word. After a teacher works with them a few times with the pictures, you can send them for homework (or in-class practice) and the student can check their own answers by looking at the pictures. I recommend occasionally check-ins at school to make sure they are remembering the correct word for the pictures.

Would have given it 5 stars for great idea on action words and nice colorful pictures, but the cards were a bit thin almost transparent. Some actions figures were not obvious, but for the most part it was worth it to get my 3 year old exposed to action words. I got this style of flash card mainly because it follows zoophonics approach to teaching words. My daughter can't read the words yet, but exposing her to words with pictures early does work. She was more familiar with a word a year after I had happened to have (for my sake) next to a drawn picture (for her recognition) on a box to describe content in it. She recognized that word more readily than other card words. So, early expose works, even if it's just a game of name that picture for now.

Perfect for the language classes and for English Arts with children whose English is not the first language. I love them specially to teach the verbs in the Spanish immersion. The images show the action perfectly, dynamic and they are fun for the kids!

Out of all the flash cards i bought. Which are a lot with different subjects. These are by far the best ones. Would recommend hole punching the bottom left corner if you plan on putting a ring on it for organization. This way is easier to flip while showing your kids the card. I find that the upper right hole punches are for when you read the cards yourself.

These cards are wonderful for teaching verbs! They are very colorful and easy to understand.

I purchased this to use with my students at a beginner level to English. They love the cards, though the lack of “faces” on the people were distracting at first. Some of the pictures were harder for them to get correctly at first, but it was still fun and beneficial for me to see what words they assigned to each card. Nice quality and size font for my students.
