Can I replace the white cord that exits the pull switch with the ball chain?

NO, NEVER attempt to mount the chain inside the pull switch cover. The white cord fitted as standard to all pull switches electrically insulates the switching mechanism from the metal chain. Remember: Electricity can kill.

No, it is made from facet-moulded acrylic.
