Rangetechnic Thermal Silicone Hand Gun Cleaning Mat, 11 x 17

This mat is fantastic. I use it on my dining room table when cleaning my handgun and never have to worry about the oils seeping through. The oil hits the mat and just beads or pools up. I just dip a qtip in to soak it right up, mat feels and looks like new. It's also great at the range, hot barrel? No problem, place it in the mat, reload your magazine and shoot away.The description states you can roll it up and keep in your range bag, I was concerned with it forming strangely, like being difficult to unroll back to flat, that is not a problem at all. I keep my mat rolled up with rubber bands at each end, take off the bands and unroll to a perfectly flat mat everytime. It is made out of a pretty heavy duty rubber material that bends easily, but feels very strong.The color and size of the mat is perfect, nothing slips or slides around and the mat stays put where you place it.I would recommend this mat to anyone with handguns!

It's simplicity is it's advantage, a basic silicone mat void of all the fuzz and different membrane layers that aggravate. It holds stuff in place, cleans easily, dries quickly after a washing, rolls up and fits nicely in a range bag (we use hair ties). Does it's job so well we are getting a larger one for long guns. If you are looking for a gift that difficult to buy for gun gadget geek, this mat would not only most likely be welcomed and not re-gifted but likely become one of their most used gadgets.

Size is good, the silicone is good quality, super easy to clean. The only thing that disappointed me was on it's first use, I dropped the slide from my hands from a few inches up, and it punctured the silicone all the way through. Unless I stretch the mat I can't see it and I'm pretty sure that even liquids would not go through being how tight the material is. I knew this could happen as silicone is a bit delicate when something sharp hits it. Maybe a harder backing would be nice but then it would defeat the easy rollup of the mat. I'll keep using it, and I'm sure it will last a long time.

I have been quite happy with this mat. It does collect a bit of debris because it is so tacky, but anything I place on the mat stays put. The gray color makes it surprisingly easy to see small items. It rolls up neatly for transportation or storage, and unrolls right back to a perfectly flat surface. It takes about 15 seconds of soap and warm water to make it clean again.If there is a negative, I think I would like to have it made just a bit bigger, maybe an inch on both dimensions.I found this mat to be functional, durable and easy to clean. Thumbs up.

I recently purchased the Rangetechnic Thermal Silicone Hand Gun Cleaning Mat and this thing is very good.It doesn't absorb any gun cleaning solvents or CLP products.The mat doesn't pickup any odors or residue from servicing your handgun. It can be washed off in the kitchen sink and it will be clean as new.It is also non-skid, parts placed on it don't slide around and it is a great work surface.

Good mat. Much thinner than a towel or carpet piece and stores easy. Very durableI am revising my review to add that the silicon mat is quite sticky, and after my first trial with it at the range I seem to have brought back most of the gunk from the top of the shooting table. I’m trying to clean it, but it is difficult to do with just a cloth. I have tried different cleansers, but with not much luck.

So far so good. This is a very nice cleaning mat. It repels solvents superbly . It is very easy to clean. Just wipe it with a rag or paper towel and you're done. This mat also has a little cushion so I like using it at the range. I lay the mat on the table at the range so if I am not using my holster or if I have multiple guns out, I can place the guns on the mat in order keep them from sliding around the table and getting scratched.When I am not using it, it stays rolled up in my range bag. Another great thing with this mat is that when I unroll it, it lays flat and does not curl up. This material also does not seem to hold static so it does not attract dog hairs.

This cleaning mat is perfect for several reasons. First, it's big. I can break down a gun and put the parts up on the top of the mat, with plenty of room for whichever piece I'm currently cleaning. There's room for the gun in pieces, plus your bottle of cleaner and bottle of oil. This is a very tacky mat, which is precisely what you want. The pieces just stay put. It doesn't slide on your work table either.So this should be an easy decision. If you have a handgun, and you care about keeping it in pristine condition, you need this mat. It simplifies the cleaning routine. The mat offers easy cleanup, and makes all the parts you are working with more manageable. For under $20.You pretty much can't go wrong here.
