Poor quality !!!!
Just saw Rocketman , movie , and really liked it . Thought I’d buy the soundtrack on Amazon . But, unfortunately changed my mind and bought this CD instead , thinking it would be better to have Elton’s original music ! WRONG ! I’m not sure if this is a fluke , or what , but the quality of this recording is more like an amateur made some cheap copies . I was quite shocked , by the many skips in several songs . Plus, the volume would change from song to song and extremely poor sound quality in general . I will not be playing this CD .. and I’ve wasted my money ! Just want to mention that I rarely write a bad review and do a lot of Amazon shopping ! So, if you want a blast from the past Elton John ... don’t chose this one !

Great set of Greatest Hits
Sir Elton John has composed along with co-writer Bernie Taupin more than a string of songs that have left lasting impressions on listeners. Elton John "Rocket Man: Number Ones" proves that Captain Fantastic possesses the showmanship as well as the pizzaz to write the most beloved ballads "Candle in the Wind" to the raunchiest and the most rockin' "Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)" melodies in popular music history. No explanation is needed for the 17 number songs that are a part of John's musical journey that is still being heard and played. Listeners will hear the zaniest songs "Crocodile Rock" and "Bennie and the Jets" that some may remember John performing alongside the Muppets, or the still memorable and touching "Daniel," "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," "Your Song," "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me," a great rendition of The Beatles' "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds," and The Lion King's "Can You Feel the Love." Indeed, a recommended collection without the any unnecessary tracks that some greatest hits packages may contain. If not all, the entire set of songs will definitely become a favorite.

Great Remastered Sound
I bought this cd for the heck of it (plus it was on sale for a very low price) as I already own Elton John's Greatest Hits double disc and basically all the songs from this disc, with the exception of 'Tiny Dancer', are on the Greatest Hits cd. Both cd's are remastered but the remastering seems to get better with newer releases on many cd's when there are several years between releases. This disc was no exception and sounds great.Looking at each song as a Wav file in a Wave Display within Nero, you can really visually see the differences between the discs for each song. The songs also sound like they have a bit more 'punch' to them too. One song in particular, 'Don't Go Breaking My Heart' has the loudness or volume more evenly from beginning to end. On the 'Greatest Hits', the volume starts out very low and then gets louder. The songs sound fantastic on 'Rocket Man: Number Ones' and glad I purchased it.If you are unfamiliar with Elton John and want to dabble but not with a double disc cd, this has his big hits plus other popular radio hits and you won't be disappointed. Remember though, this just barely scratches the surface of Elton John as an artist, singer and writer (many written with Bernie Taupin).

Great CD but quality could be better.
Love Elton John and this has a lot of great songs on it. But, the quality of sound is a bit disappointing. But, for the price, it's good enough!!

Love,Elton John!
Simply a LEGEND and this compilation of songs that almost everyone has heard that has watched a movie, listened to the radio, or seen a commercial proves it. Songs that have stood that test of time and can take you back to the very moment you heard it for the first time. That is what music is, it is the immortal part of us that no matter how old we get it will never stop making us feel! And Elton puts his heart and soul into every track with some playful, deep down in your gut, kinda rock and roll that makes us sing, dance and shout! It is so personal that it feels like he wrote them just for me, but then decided everyone would love it too. I hope others have enjoyed Elton over the years as much as I have. Thanks Sir Elton, to quote your song, "how wonderful life is now your in the world."

Quality is bad!
I am very disappointed in this cd. It skips and doesn’t play the entire songs! I won’t be buying anything used again!!

Number Ones, lost potential.
The reason I got this cd was because I so badly wanted an album cataloging Elton John's number one's catalog. Even though there weren't too many Billboard and UK charts toppers, there are more than enough contemporary (radio charts) toppers. So the big question is where are they? Where's array of 80's number ones? Blue Eyes, Little Jeanie (though this was included of the UK version of the album) I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That and Healing Hands were all radio chart toppers just like Good Yellow Brick Road and Daniel. And if the George Michael duet was included, why not That's What Friends Are For? There are quite a few 90's hits as well that could have been used, notability The One and Something About The Way You Look Tonight. What we left with are 12 songs and a handful of bonus top 10 tracks that defeats the whole purpose of the album. And even though I can live with the 12 toppers, it bugs me that there is no 10 second pause between the album and bonus tracks as was done with most of Elton's other albums. The dvd was another reason that prompted me to get this version, but alas it's nothing the average fan wouldn't have already. The 25minutes from the red piano are clips from the red piano dvd but for some reason I thought they would be a different red piano concert... Your Song is a clip from the 86 Live in Australia concert. I guess That's Why They Call It The Blues and I'm Still Standing are the normal 80's music videos and that's where I turned it off. If I knew, I would have gotten the normal cd without bonus dvd.Despite it's short comings, you are left with 12 number ones and I'm glad Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds was included. It's a bit of a break from listening to the normal greatest hits album and finally Elton has his chart toppers album like Elvis, the Beatles and every other singer out there. As I mentioned before, if you a fan and have most of Elton's catalog, skip this cd with bonus dvd and get the normal single cd. You'll be saving yourself some cash. If you new to Elton John then pick up this package and you'll be pleasantly surprised at the great artist you about to discover.

This product works great
I love Elton Johns music and was very pleased with this selection of songs. I intend to buy more of his music plus other artists works. I love the older tunes of a few artists and I'm sure that they will also be great buys.

Super fan
I bought this cd because I wanted to have my own collection of Elton John and I wanted to make sure that had a copy of his best oldies. He is a very talented man and loved by everyone. Hats off to him!

Great Songs - Poor Remastering
I have been a fan since hearing Your Song on the radio when it was first released as a single. I was looking for a single disc collection of hits. Having already bought the remastered Tumbleweed Connection, I was disappointed by this. The sound quality pales in comparison. Somewhere along the way this compilation has been subjected to less-than-perfect remastering. You may want to look elsewhere for a compilation.

Great music from a great film!
I really enjoyed the Rocketman film and saw it twice so hearing the soundtrack again was a great experience.
