Ordinary People Change the World Gift Set

I ordered this book set for my daughter last Christmas and she LOVED it! I did too. These books are incredibly well written and are chock full of information. Over the last year my daughter and I have read and reread them too many times to count. When I ask her to choose a bedtime book to read she usually grabs one of these books. They've managed to pique her curiosity and she's gone on to research more information on her own. When it was her turn for show and tell she chose to share one of these books her classmates and when I was invited to read to her class she chose one of these books. Mr. Meltzer excels at writing complex information in a way that is kid friendly and ultimately captures the young reader's attention in every page. The illustrations are beautiful and fun. Each book ends with a touching, uplifting message that will make you smile and reflect. Since I purchased this set last year I've gone on to purchase several of the individual books. They're all absolutely delightful. I could go on and on about how wonderful these books are but I'll end by saying that if you're looking for positive, uplifting books for a child in your life get these ASAP. You won't regret it!

I received a different set than in other reviews. I personally love these books and my almost six year old loves them too. We do watch and are a fans of the PBS series; however there is something just special about reading and these keep my son interested. He read all four books back to back when they arrived. Love that he is learning about historical moments amazing people and life lessons about integrity doing what’s right and standing up for yourself. Well written on a level that explains history and we like that at the end are real pictures and a timeline of the persons life. I would be interested in finding the other box set that was in the other review.

These books are wonderful. My kindergartner is into the show Xavier Riddle and the secret museum. It's based on this series and we love it. The books teach history in a fun and engaging way. We learn about the childhood and then the reasons the figure helped change the world. They are not boring, patronizing, or misleading. The books encourage bravery, respect, honesty, and fighting for what is right. I was happy to find a box set and look forward to the next releases.

These books are absolutely wonderful! I bought them as a Christmas gift for my 5 and 8 year old. They are a great way of introducing kids to history and important historical figures. They are written from the historical figure's perspective and in a way that is very relatable for young children. The fun illustrations and comic book style word bubbles keep kids engaged. The books also serve as a great jumping off point for discussing important issues with kids, such as civil rights and women's rights. These books also have important character building lessons and are overall great books for kids. I can't wait to add more to our collection.

I got this set for my 4 year old daughter and she has fallen in love with them. It's her favorite bed time stories. The stories are up lifting and cute enough for her to want to pay attention .For her to know each of the characters and their moral of the stories is one of the best ways for young children to learn about history, get a great idea about true heroism for real people. A big shout out to Kevin Smith and his Fatman on Batman Podcast when he interviewed Brad Meltzer that got me interested in these books. All my nephews and nieces have these!

My family LOVES these books! When it comes time for a bedtime story, these are usually the ones I pick. My 3, almost 4 year old, also loves them! They are fun to read and my daughter and I have both learned some fun facts from them. I like how they are somewhat inspirational, especially at the end. They are great quality and have a nice book holder. I do have to keep them away from my 1 year old, because he’d tear them up (they are NOT board books—but are hardcover). My husband especially loves the illustrations because they remind him of Calvin and Hobbes 😊 I definitely recommend them!

These are a great to introduce motivational historical figures to young kids. This set has Amelia Earhart, Rosa Parks, Abe Lincoln, and Albert Einstein. We borrowed the Albert Einstein book from the library and my seven year old was hooked. These talk about more than just the person, and about what drives their interests. Scholastic sells paperback versions but the hardcovers are very nice for repeated use or sharing, for a few dollars more per book at the discounted price of half off. If you have a growing family or classroom to share these in, or like hardcovers, these are nice ones. I got this and the Ordinary Women Change the World Gift Set. My one wish is that they had not overlapped one of the books. ::jk

My elementary aged child loves these books. They have a fascination with people from history and this is a great way to learn about people and get educated about them in a fun way. Therw are comic bubbles too. My 9 year old and I enjoy reading them together
