Prym Chalk Sharpener

This is a great example of a simple tool that does what it's supposed to do and actually does make keeping a sharp edge on sewing chalk an easy and less messy and even less dangerous task than it might otherwise be (in my case, that would mean using an exacto or razor blade to sharpen the chalk). The entire tool including the teeth is made of plastic, so they're not sharp enough to hurt any little fingers that might find their way into the curious shaped plastic object, yet do just fine at scraping the edge off the slice of chalk when needed. There's a little slidey door on the "spine" of the tool to allow for emptying. It slides easily, making emptying easy and mess-free. Money well spent!

I prefer to use chalks when cutting patterns as they make me feel more legit as a sewist. Got these since I did notice lines getting thicker and duller as I used my chalks on cloth. Pros: Excellent at what it does. Works very fast and is completely self-explanatory to use. I could imagine someone with issues with arthritis could find this quite easy to use. There's a small compartment which collects the chalk dust for clean use. The price is excellent for how well it works. Cons: Wish there were an option to choose colors, don't really go with any sewing tools I own. Summary: These have one job, and its done well. If you are looking for a great tool that does the job, this is it!

Very easy to use. Chalk to a nice fine edge. Way better edge than the more expensive Wawak sharpener I have.

Not much to say but it works as described! Easy to use! Was delivered on time! Haven’t tried it on the crayon type fabric markers!

This is the third Prym taylors chalk sharpener I've bought. I gave 2 away as gifts. I highly recommend it.

It is held together by two clue tacks. I most likely have to hot glue it together before falls apart. Otherwise, it does the job. That's why it has three stars. Shipped fast.

It eats more chalk than it sharpens.

Siempre quise uno y cuando encontré este de pura casualidad supe que tenia que comprarlo, me va de maravilla y es perfecto para mis labores en el mundillo de la confección, así siempre tengo mis tizas listas para usar. Aunque pueda no parecer muy efectivo saca punto mucho mejor de lo que creía, funciona a la perfección y para vaciarlo el mecanismo es sencillisimo y además fácil de guardar por el pequeño tamaño.
