Great company 👍
OK, so I ordered crickets from a different supplier last time 250 count .500” and most of them were dead on arrival. The ones that were alive, moved very slowly. didn’t jump at all and had a pale coloration to them. I only ordered 72 .500” crickets from these guys thinking I don’t wanna spend all that time picking out dead crickets again, but was pleasantly surprised. There wasn’t a single dead cricket, and these things were jumping around like crazy. I dropped them in my little habitat that I made from a 5 gallon bucket and as soon as they hit the bottom they went straight for the dry cat food. They were literally grabbing onto it and dragging pieces across the bucket! My son and I got a kick out of that, it was hilarious.. I noticed these guys also shipped them with a heating pad. I think this makes a big difference. I also think these guys feed them well too, as ther color was darker. I have been keeping my crickets in the garage and it gets down into the 40s here where I live not too cold but thinking I will keep them indoors now to keep them warmer. Today’s date May 25, updating my review. I have ordered from these guys four times now haven’t received a single dead, cricket, this time the crickets were delivered on the 23rd and I forgot about them in my vehicle and opened the box 3 days later on the 25th and not a single. They were pretty hungry though. You can see them attacking the cat food in the video clip😆🤣😂

These were great! They all arrived alive and healthy! It was below freezing outside but the heat pack was still warm! Will be ordering again 🦎

These crickets live long and prosper! Thus, reliable flood source and excellent value.
Oh wow! After three weeks of feeding my “rescue” bullfrog, Syrax (raised from seriously injured tadpole; loooong story), there were ZERO - nada - none - dead crickets! Every single one had lived a good, healthy, cared-for life until meeting its natural end in the Great Circle of Paludarium. This review is for the 72-count 1/2” banded crickets, which I kept in an insect-keeper, feeding Fluker’s Cricket Quencher and bananas and calcium cricket food. They LOVED the bananas! I am so pleased with Josh’s Frogs. Not only does the website contain outstanding and copious information on raising and caring for critters, the company clearly truly CARES that they ALL be treated with kindness and respect. Even crickets. And the price is worth it. While the product and shipping costs are a lot higher than if I went to the local pet store, those crickets never survive more than two weeks at most and I never know if they will be in stock. It’s been really frustrating. They cost about 10 cents each, which would be $7 for 70, plus gas and time (ca. 1 hr) and Covid-19 exposure. Given that I only bought 25 at a time and get only about 15 to feed because the rest would be dead in <two weeks, I had to go back often, so add another trip for 70 total. Josh’s cost about $20, all included. Say minimum wage is just $12/hr (one can dream), and gas is $1, ordering from Josh’s Frogs is a bargain for my time and dime. Syrax would probably prefer slightly larger crickets, so I’m now going to try the 250-count 3/4” House ‘o Crickets and see if I can keep them going for four weeks. (If Josh’s Frogs had 72 counts of that size, I’d buy them.) Chirp.

Crickets are not dead!
I am feeding 3 toads and the crickets we bought at the pet store were always dead after 3-4 days. Josh's take 2-3 days to arrive and there are 0 dead ones when we run out! It's marginally more expensive than my pet store, but very convenient once I figured out the arrival time and could plan my orders, plus, none are dying (my toads do not eat dead crickets). Game changer for sure! Just switched from 72 to 250 and I'm switching back! 250 comes in a box and my cricket cages are not big enough to handle the material that they were shipped with. Definitely glad I read the other reviews and knew not to try to remove them from the box inside my house! I think all of the outside toads in our neighborhood ate well yesterday! But overall, still the best crickets out there. They are living longer and overall I am saving time from not running to the pet store every 4 days and money due to the number of crickets that are staying alive. Just be careful that if you are buying the higher quantities (250+) that you have large enough cricket cages to handle it and that you open the box outside!

Most were dead, this order and last…
First, let me say that I’ve had 3-4 72 pack shipments of banded crickets delivered from Josh’s ALL alive. That’s why I’m giving 3 stars, however, as you can see, these were mostly dead. I know it’s freezing out in MI and TN so I watched my USPS tracking and got them out of my box within the hour of delivery. These all look dead, but o actually got about 25 live ones out of it. They were up in the carton and a few were just stiff from the cold but started wiggling later so don’t immediately trash them! Let them warm up. My last shipment, I tried the 150 pack (I believe it was) and half of those were dead. There was a big orange or something in the box that I think maybe they got squished under. (Even though it was secured to the side) I hope this was just a couple of bad ones, but I think a partial refund or a coupon for half off would be nice, when this happens. Other than dead crickets, these are the best. The ones at Petco stink and chirp….these, oddly, do not chirp, so a full star for that feature! lol
