Reunions are often like re-heated soup, they can turn out good or a bit dull. This one worked. Playing this Cd is a bit like sitting down in an old comfy chair. I was glad I bought it, and listen to it frequently. Although '13' is not the peak of Daredevils' career, it still makes for a bloody good listen. Buy with confidence.

I am not sure why I missed this one in 1997, but as they say, better late than never.This is a super country rock album with the same musicianship and melodies as the original 1970s Ozark Mountain Daredevils.The songs from the band have mellowed a bit from their heyday when If You Wanna Get to Heaven, Jackie Blue, and Standin' on the Rock came out. But bottom line, these boys can play.Two thumbs up on this creative and well produced album.

I was very happy to see that the Ozark Mountain Daredevils regroupled for this fine album in 2000. Song nice songs on here, but I don't hear any obvious stand-out classics like the many great tunes that filled their albums in the 1970s. Nevertheless, there is good music here, and this will certainly appeal to longtime OMD fans. Keep on churning!

Awesome cd will buy it again as a gift

This is a good album, I am long time if not forever fan of the Ozark Mountain Daredevils and am glad to see them releasing some new music and re-releasing some of the older albums that have not been availibale on cd, give them a hand, and if you have not listened to them before, you are missing a very good band.

I love this group back in the 1970's. This CD is outstanding - just wish I could see them on tour one more time.

"13" in kind of hard for me to review. Partly because I'd love to like it much more than I do, but also because I'm clearly not among the country music audience this album was made for. There are some songs I like very much like "New York". Most of the rest of the album is mid-tempo country and country-pop, a bit boring to me (but certainly much better for people who like this kind of country music). I could have given "13" one star more, I guess, but compared to their very energetic rock album "Ozark Mountain Daredevils" (1980 CBS) or the real masterpiece before it, "Don't Look Down" (1977 A&M), I simply find myself missing their edge and energy. After saying all that, I realize that I love the OMD albums that sold by far the worst, and were pretty much ignored by most of the fanbase. I'm a rock person more than country, can't help that.So, after all, I respect "13" very much and I'm glad the guys had a chance to make it. It offers a lot of pleasant, good music, and I also find myself listening to it time and time again. Production is good and crisp.

You can't keep a good band down! After 25 years these guys just keep getting better. "13" is the perfect Album to display an overall view of the "Ozark Mountain Daredevils", musical style. This CD could have been recorded in 1974! Don't be mistaken, this isn't an Album of "Old" songs...more an Album of "New" songs with an "Old" feel. Each track displays a typical "Daredevils" mood, Laid back, good time with a few up-beat numbers, just to get your foot tapping a little faster. A quality Album from start to finish. The Rolling Stone Record Guide Quotes - "The Ozark Mountain Daredevils sound like what might have happened if Jed Clampett had brough himself the Eagles to make records with". Unfortunately this is an unfair comparison, and "13" proves it. This is an Album full of First Class singing and song writing even after two decades! A fine testament to a Band that has not given up on the music or changed to fit the 90's Countryimage. Bottom line - Sometimes the more things change, the more they stay the same. If this Album was released in the 70's it would still be one of your favorites now. Re-live the past, enjoy the present and look to the future with "13".
