Brother ScanNCut Online Activation Card, CAWLCARD1

As advertised, arrived on time & worked as stated. It's nice not having to save to a flash drive, eject it then install it into the machine just to use your files. With the click of your mouse you can send your files from your computer right to your cutting machine. I use the free scan n cut canvas program a lot and I just click & the files are right in my cutting machine, I think the price is a little high considering all you get is the ability to send your files easier. Wish it had come with some extra cutting files or something.

I recomened getting this card for the scan cute becouse the updates are sent to your machen . You dont have to look for them to know there out .you dont have to download them or move them with a jump drive. It makes updates easy.all you do is install when ready. But you dont have to buy it to use machen .

I read the reviews on this card and was a little nervous but forged ahead. I did not have any of the problems other had (thankfully because I am just tech savvy enough to get myself into more trouble). Get the card and have some help on standby if you are not confident with computer technology. I am having sooo much fun with the online aspect of the ScanNCut. You will not be disappointed.

You may need a new router! This machine can only pick up a 2.4 ghz signal. My router was old and outdated so I bought a new double bandwith one to see if that would fix the connection problem I was having after registering the code on the Scan and Cut. So far so good! A bit of a hassle but it was time to put my 11 year old router to rest. XD

I know others said you don’t need it but you do if you want to send any designs to your machine. I used a usb for about a month and decided I really needed for all the patterns that I wanted to complete and sent to my machine and save on the workspace

Bought this for my wife. She said it completely cuts out the need for a flash drive. Now everything she does goes from computer to the machine (via WiFi). It worked perfectly and she is very happy with it. If I needed another I would buy this one.

Beware. The code that you get will not transfer to a new machine. I had to exchange my Scanncut because it was defective. I had expected to be able to use my Online Activation Card number on my replaced machine. It didn’t work. I emailed Brother’s customer service. When they finally responded, I was told that they couldn’t help me. Instead, I must go through Amazon to get a replacement card. Unfortunately, they responded the day after Amazon’s 30 day exchange window closed, so I’m SOL. I’m out 50 bucks through no fault of my own.Were it not for the ridiculous replacement policy, I would have rated this a 4. When you download a design from Scanncut canvas, you get to choose to either send it wirelessly to your machine, or download it to your computer. When you download it to your computer it always goes into your Downloads folder. Then, you have to transfer it to your flash drive, and then move your flash drive to your machine and then recall the design from your flash drive (I tried to use a USB cable instead of a flash drive, but was not able to get it to work). When you choose the wireless option, you can do it in one step. It is there waiting for you. The one problem with the wireless option is that you can only do one design at a time. It only knows the last one that you downloaded wirelessly.

While the activation card is not required to use the scan n cut, I would HIGHLY recommend it. It makes getting your cut file from the computer to your machine effortless. So happy I purchased it. You will be, too.
