Are these better than anyone else's? Of course not. Pretty much any tea ball is the same. But they have no flaws- the clasps work great, there are no loose wires poking out, they are not some weird metal that rusts and tastes bad. Perfectly good, normal tea balls.I gotta say, in reaction to the shockingly highly-rated review from some idiot who apparently doesn't have tea on their home planet... no it is NOT a design flaw that you can only fill a chain-style ball halfway (as opposed, I guess, to the ones on stiff handles, that open like scissors, so you could grab a full scoop out of the tea tin). YOU ARE ONLY EVER SUPPOSED TO FILL A TEA BALL HALFWAY, well, actually less than halfway. You need to leave room for the water to swirl through the tea so it can infuse properly. If it's jammed in there tightly, you won't get all the flavor out of the tea leaves. And keep in mind tea expands a lot once it is fully wet. You want to fill a teaball maybe 1/3 full in my opinion. Half full is the absolute maximum. This little 2" one I bought is only good for a single cup of tea if you like it strong, maybe half a pot of weak tea. If you want to do a full strength full sized pot or large thermos, you need to get a couple of them in there or pick the larger ball, maybe even put a couple of the larger balls in. Whatever you do, don't cram too much tea in each ball or you'll be throwing out your tea leaves with most of the flavor still in them not in your water!Personally I prefer to use a french press, seems to infuse more thoroughly plus I like to look at the leaves unfurling. But a glass carafe is bulky and fragile. If you are travelling or making tea at work then you need a tea ball, and these are a perfect choice.

Getting a real cup of coffee backpacking.
It was what I expected in quality and size. Using it to make a cup of coffee when backpack camping. Leaves some coffee fines in my cup but it's a backpacking cup of coffee and is expected.

weak hinge but otherwise work well
A bit flimsy on the hinge but work well. I have had to put them back together and squeeze the hinge tighter on both of them but otherwise they are working well. I have used them daily for a few months now

Great for loose tea!
Very happy with this purchase. Now the loose tea is secured in the mesh. The size is just right for what is needed for a good cup of tea. Easy to clean. It hangs on the cup nicely while steeping.

Good but lasted less than 4 years
Over time the product developed rust at the hinges and no longer closes perfectly so the loose leaf can escape.

Food safety hazard. Stay away
It seems to work as expected when I used it for the 1st time. When I used it for the 2nd time and tried to open it by pulling the closing clip. I was shocked to see the clip just came off to make it not possible to use again. Upon close examination, I am really terrified to see the small rivet that holds the closing clip in place either rusted or dissolved. Luckily it came off only when I tried to open it. If it came off during cooking process, this tiny metal rivet can mix with the food and come into my stomach. This tiny metal rivet is definitely not made of stainless steel. And the maker should be prosecuted for selling food safety hazard item that can cause serious threat to user.

Would buy again
Love the tea balls. We make tea a lot because we grow our own mint.
