Fun collection of 96 Archie comics
I really enjoy these comic sets from GIT. I also own the Jughead and Star Trek comics sets. The only "problem" I have with the Archie set is there are not 97 comics on the disc... there are only 96 comics but it's not Amazon's fault. They are divided into 10 folders for the years 1970 thru 1979. The regular issues are numbered consecutively from ARCHIE197.PDF in the /1970 folder, to ARCHIE287.PDF in the /1979 folder. That's a total of 91 regular comics. Then there are 5 annuals numbered ARCHIEANN022.PDF to ARCHIEANN026.PDF in the /Annuals folder. Not sure how they come up with 97 comics, but indeed the inside flap on the cardboard box advertises "A total of 97 complete comic books..." so that's where Amazon got the number 97 from.I don't think they "cheated" me out of a comic... I just think GIT miscounted (or is there a secret comic I don't know about?) These are really great comics. They have all the ads from the 70s that are just as much fun to read as the comics sometimes. Even the fan letters are included!I used to wonder why the last 2-page layout had a big black space where the lefthand page would be, thinking maybe they were blacking-out an ad or something (my other GIT comics are like this, too). But I think I have it figured out. Both the front and back covers are shown on a "special" 2-page layout with their lefthand pages blacked out. In other words, the front cover is on its own 2-page layout with the left page blank, and the back cover is on its own 2-page layout also with its left page blank. It would seem more natural (?) to me if the back cover had been on the LEFT in its 2-page layout, and then black out the right hand page, right? But that's just me being picky! Never fear... all the pages are there!

Watermarked Pages Ruin Artwork On Non-Adobe Readers
(Original review -- also see following paragraph) This would be a wonderful CD of ARCHIE comics but for some reason they have watermarked each page with the word "Archie." This watermark goes right across every page and is about a panel in height. Although, being a watermark it is light it is still there and the eye keeps going to it. What an awful thing to have done and I can't imagine why they did it this way. Don't waste your money unless you want to read the word "Archie" zillions of times.(As you will see in the comments below I added three stars to this review as if you use Adobe Reader which the CD installs you do NOT see the watermarks. However if you use Preview (as I do) you see them or if you use iBooks you do. So, if you are looking to use these in an environment in which you don't want to use Adobe Reader an otherwise 5-star collection herein is rated 4-stars.)

A scholar's dream! Wonderful collection!
I have been an Archie fan since birth, and this latest CD Rom set is amazing. It is a great collection of scanned hard to find comics. Perfect for fans and researchers (yes, I am both!) Worth the money, especially used. I am glad I took a moment to buy this. Very cool--a great way to revisit the classics and enjoy the comics without blowing a bundle on original titles. 2 Thumbs up. Highly recommended. I hope they make these for all the decades and all the series titles! I will buy them all!!! This would also be a great collection for a library to buy. Very portable on DVD and easy to use!!

Works on the IPAD!
I bought this so I could read this on my IPAD, and it works great. I popped in the DVD, connected my IPAD to my PC and copied all the PDFs across. The PDF watermark should only show up in a printed version but this also depends on the version of your PDF viewer. When I used IBOOK to try read the PDFs I did indeed see a watermark but luckly I also purchased the GOODREADER app which removes the watermark. I think this is good value for money if you want to read Archie comics on your IPAD or even your PC.

Geat buy
I bought this for use with my kindle fire. It has pdf files of Archie Comic books. I bought the Betty and Veronica and the Jughead ones too. The boxes arrived smashed, but the Dvds inside work just fine. The comics have a watermark, but thats the fault of the kindle fire not having a good pdf reader. The watermark is visible, but barely and it does not interfere with reading the text or seeing any of the pictures when you read the comics. If you have this on a PC with Abobe acrobat reader, there is no watermark. However undtil the kindle fire gets one the watermark will show. There are close to 100 issues in each dvd. For the price (less than $6) this was a steal.Unlike some dvds of comics you can import these from your PC to the kindle fire. I had to convert the sad sack Dvd I bought elsewhere, but all of the Archie comics loaded up without having to do any conversion whatsoever. Now if only they would make a good kindle fire pdfreader app that doesn't show the water mark! Adobes kindle fire app will show the watermark on the kindle fire.

Lots of fun, even for this old guy
It's very relaxing to enjoy the simple pleasure of old Archie comic books. It is very simple to copy them over to the Kindle FIre and read them in bed or on the go. The quality is not great - they are obviously scanned and watermarked, but they are fun and easy to read. On the Kindle you have to lightly scroll each page to see the bottom quarter of each spread, but it's not much trouble. Great value for all that you get.

Disc Highlights Archie's Finest Hour
The bronze age was the best age for Archie comics and here you have alot wide range of issues fro that time period on a handy disc format to watch on your computer which takes up alot less space than actual magazines and is much easier to read then hide from your friends rather than admit Archie is something you (still) enjoy. Lots of fond memories in a handy package.
