A good read with an interesting use of language

Captivating historical drama story with main characters who are easy to like. Gives a wonderful picture of the trials and tribulations ofLondon in the 1690's and an insight into the religious war and the inner workings of the Queens closest advisor's.

I had read the other Jackdaw Mysteries and thoroughly enjoyed them. This book was equally enjoyable and I didn’t want it to end. Other than the Shardlake books I had never read any historical “ detective “ novels and now I’m ready and looking forward to reading a lot more. I find the description of life in those times equally as interesting as the people and the plots.

Good read, well thought out plots

Just finished 1st book and about to start 2nd. These books are as good as any of the many available in this genre.
