Entertaining.
I really enjoyed reading this book, and I cannot wait to read more of this series. It is fun and interesting, with colorful characters. Best of all, it keeps you guessing as to the killer. It's nice to see a main character based in reality. She was more real than a lot of other main characters in this genre. This book is definitely worth reading.

A very exciting cozy mystery
I loved this book. It is so exciting I hated to put it down when I had to do something. I love all of the characters. They seem like real people. Cindy Sample is such a good writer, you feel as if you are there. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading a good exciting cozy mystery.

Great book
What a wonderfully funny, romantic, and genuine story! I know its only fiction but with the goings on of the world today (2020-2021), it is very easy to believe it is a true story with the names changed to protect the innocent! Lol. Laurel always gets her man! Who knew dancing could be life threatening? Wowzer! Continue on to book three to keep and eye on Laurel and Dan!. Great book!#Cindysample

Another Winner!
The book is charmingly well written, and is a very compelling read like the first book in the series. The heroine, Laurel McKay, finds herself neck-deep in a murder mystery once again; only this time, it's in a dance studio. Between attempting to solve the murder mystery in the midst of an increasing body count, preparing for her best friend's wedding, being a target for the killer, dealing with her ex-boyfriend, and resisting the advances of a burly dance-instructor while maintaining a normal lifestyle, Laurel certainly has her hands full. Cindy Sample's intriguing style of writing leaves the reader laughing constantly, while hungering for more, whether it'll be more clues as to who the killer may be or more humorous scenes with Laurel in the Golden Hills Dance Studio. Throw in a bit of romance and chemistry from the sexy Tom Hunter, Laurel's on-and-off again boyfriend, and we have a more intriguing conundrum. Overall, great book. I really look forward to the next book in the series- Dying for a Daiquiri. Hopefully, the author will write more beyond the third book because these books are addictive!

Dying for a Dance
I thoroughly enjoyed this humorous murder mystery. The author put in little quips about herself and humorous remarks throughout the book. It was easy reading and light-hearted mystery. The author enters the characters with out confusion. I found myself really anxious to find out who was the murderer. The best part of the book was that it was set in a town that I have lived in for 35 yrs.(El Dorado County) So I knew the places and locations of those mentioned in the story. She draws you in from the beginning and you can't put the book down (oh..the Kindle ). It seems like they may have taken her stories and put them on "Murder, She Wrote". I look forward to reading her other books.

Worth reading it
This second instalment was somewhat not as good as the first one but was worth reading. It felt like a repetition of the first one. But I am reading the third, Dying for a Daiquiri and am loving it! So even if it is not great I repeat it is worth reading it. I liked the characters very much and the humour in the book feels natural not forced as in many books I've read in the past

Detecting and Dancing may prove lethal
Dying for a Dance is mystery novelist Cindy Sample's second outing for single working mom Laurel McKay. Laurel, an "Everywoman" for the rest of us, shares her insecurities with a rapid fire , self-deprecating wit that makes you want to be her BFF. At the same time, we get to vicariously experience the cutthroat glitz of the world of ballroom dancing. In Sample's earlier "Dying for a Date," also available on Kindle, Laurel fell into amateur sleuthing after two dates she met through a dating service meet untimely ends, and not by natural causes. This time, Laurel's job is on the line after police pull in her banker boss and his wife when a popular Russian ballroom dance instructor with wayward hands and even more wayward ways with other folks' money is slain. And Laurel has other motivations as well: after all, the dead Russian was found with the stiletto heel of one of Laurel's dancing shoes in his mouth. Yes, klutzy loveable Laurel is taking dancing lessons under duress: her fire-breathing Bridezilla best friend Liz's dream of a cheoreographed routine for the "perfect" New Year's Eve wedding."Dying for a Dance" is even more of a hoot than Sample's earlier book, and the plot more layered. It's a real treat for leadfooted voyeurs's who tune in faithfully each week for "Dancing with the Stars," yet are clueless about the rigors these "dancers" must endure for "their art, and it's especially fun to enter their world with Laurel as your guide.Laurel's milieu (and Sample's) is California Gold Country, and the novelist makes her "Hangtown" setting a character in its own right, quite a tour de force considering the cast of colorful dance world denizens and Laurel's funky friends that populate this tale. Oh, yes, there's a handsome police detective to further complicate Laurel's life as well as her two spunky kids.Fans of Sample's earlier "Dying for a Date" will gobble up this sequel like Godiva truffles, and new readers will smile and chuckle their way through a romantic caper with enough menace and plot twists for the veteran cozy reader. Kudos to Cindy Sample for giving me a fun ride, a new take on ballroom dancing, and a mystery that kept me guessing all the way to the whirlwind climax on the snowy moonlit shores of Lake Tahoe.

Hilarious
This high quality cozy mystery is high on zany comedy. You wouldn't believe all that could happen to one person forced into dance lessons, but it all fits in this book, patched together.

Lovely
Laurel learns to dance Foxtrot for her best friends Liz upcoming wedding. Not an easy task for her but when she brakes a heel on her expensive dance shoes and that particular heal ends up in the mouth of a murder victim things get from bad to worse.Laurel’s mom has a surprise in store of her own and how will the relationship with Laurel’ s former boyfriend and investigating officer develop? Lots of twists and turns and a surprising end.

Thrills, murders and many laughs
I love LaureL. She’s a single mum bringing up two children and holding a responsible job, but she’s also accident prone and liable to get entangled in any mystery that comes along, especially if there’s a dead body involved. Lots of really funny moments, lots of wry oneliners and a good whodunit thriller. The ending, where the killer confessed all was rather Agatha, but then we had a James Bond action sequence - so that’s ok. Let’s hope Laurel and Tom get together properly soon, she deserves to
