The Spice Way Bay Leaves - ground (4 oz) bay leaf powder great for cooking soups, stews and vegetables

Pro: I have no idea what kind of organic Bay Leaves they use but they are definitely a fresh green finely ground powder just like the Amazon photo displays. They are aromatic and a little goes a long ways. Previously, I've ground the McCormick Gourmet Turkish Bay leaves myself in a small coffee grinder and was pleased with how that turned out, and I'd pour it back into the same glass bottle with the plastic cap that has holes in the top. I had hoped to be able to do the same thing with putting this powdered Bay leaves as I prefer glass rather than foil bags. Unfortunately, the McCormick cap won't work for me because it didn't come in a powdered form, just leaves and I'm out of the other types of plastic lids with small or large holes that come with Spice Hunter or Simply Organic brands and they are not compatible with McCormick. There is no easy way to just shake out the amount I want without having to use a teaspoon. If they would have included the option of a glass spice bottle with a shaker type lid to control the speed of their fine powder as one dispensed it, it would have been a 5 star for me, but it's more of a 4.5 rating because of that issue. I rounded it up 1/2 star because of the freshness and being as described. I hope they will consider packaging it in a glass bottle with a shaker type cap or lid in the future. The value for this product is excellent.Con: Inconvenient due to packaging in a foil bag instead of the glass spice jar with shaker cap option, but it seals the spice safely so I still recommend it if you prefer to control the quantity of flavor that solid Bay leaves do not offer. Hope that helps folks decide if this is better for them or not.

Watched a video that used bay leaves in a salve to help get rid of wrinkles. "Natures botax" is what it said about bay leaves. Well havent notices too much change in the 4 months I've been trying it. But on the plus side I have a bunch of leftover bay leaf powder for cooking!

I will use this product for flavoring meats and sauces; and as a component in making medicinal tinctures and essential oils.
