This company is fabulous and so are their toys!
This is the 5th product I have purchased from Thames & Kosmos. My kids love their building toys. The kids even end up creating their own machines after they have built some following the instructions. My only complaint is that a few of their pieces are made too thin and tend to snap and break. But I just call the company or email them and ask for replacements and they send them out for free with no hastle. I Highly recommend anything from this company!

Good
Bought this for 7 YO grandson for Christmas. He’s a pro at lego sets, and did not need much help with this set. I sat and helped him only because some of the pieces were hard to snap together. The instructions were ok, not as good as lego that he is used to, but he got the machine together without incident. The only negative is the battery pack for the remote control was broken, and not usable to use ... this was disappointing for him :(

This is an awesome item, my daughter is only 5 and I'm helping her build these machines and it's really fun. The Mars Rover was frustrating to build and very time consuming but this product is awesome.

8 year old excited to receive this gift
I bought 2 Thames & Kosmos Science kits for a bright 8 year old who’s into STEM projects & experiments and anything to do with Space; he was very excited to receive them. I never followed up to ask details about the quality and usage, but friends have said that Thames & Kosmos kits are the better ones of the available choices.

if not the best one. LEGO Mindstorms
I worked on this with my 8-year-old grand-daughter who is quite adept with LEGOs, but needed help on some of the more complex assemblies. Putting the various projects together can work with assistance from someone older. However, the instructions are a bit of a challenge even to adults as the graphics-oriented directions are not always clear, and even my experience in building things led me down the wrong paths on occasion. In the end, it is possible to complete all of the projects with some occasional do-overs during assembly. However, the reward at the end is disappointing. The working motorized robots do not navigate well over normal rooms with combinations of rugs and bare spots. The most badly executed component assembly is the motorized steering used on Mars and Lunar rovers. The motor is not geared down enough and thus the steering will move quickly to one extreme or another when one uses the remote control. On the plus side, the kit does teach how gears work (and don't work) so there is a lesson here, if not the best one. LEGO Mindstorms, a considerably more expensive kit, is also much more satisfactory in teaching robotics.

Making toys
My kids enjoyed the challenge of putting this together. They are lego-maniacs they loved the idea of being able to play with their creation afterwards and not just set it on a shelf like most Legos

Great fun!
We got this for our grandson who is just turning eight. He is a master Lego builder and loved this. He had great fun putting together his first model with his grandfather. Since he already has 1,000,000 Lego pieces, this was a perfect change of pace.

Excellent product wiyh very good quality parts and extremely user friendly manual which kids can understand easily. Neatly packed. Having multiple options of structure helps. Cost is bit high since it's an imported product.

Está súper y tiene muchas posibilidades, lo malo es que se necesita algo de fuerza para poder ensamblar algunas cosas, y para un niño será difícil. Aún así vale muchísimo la pena.
