Rubbermaid Commercial Products BRUTE Heavy-Duty Round Trash Can with Venting Channels, 20-Gallon, Black, Waste Container for Landscapers/Construction Sites/Restaurants/Offices/Warehouses/Home/Driveway

This Rubbermaid 20 gal heavy-duty Brute barrel arrived in a box that was too small. The seller had squashed the top diameter (which is bigger than the base diameter) into a serious oval to make it ‘fit.’ Because it’s serving as a garbage can in my garage, I also bought the 20 gal Brute lid separately. Fortunately, I was able to coax the barrel’s top back into a circle to make the lid fit snuggly upon arrival. At first, the barrel’s ovalness was so powerful — it kept popping the ‘snapped-on’ lid off! I was concerned. But 24 hours later, the barrel’s shape has been restored to normal. It’s testimony to the resilience of the Brute line. I expect many years of performance from the barrel and lid.BTW, I’d kept a 10 gal or so Rubbermaid barrel in my garage for decades. Over time, between cleaning our cars, yard and garden stick and weed debris, HEPA vacuum dirt dumps, gutter cleaning muck, and oily disposable roaster pans and fish and seafood scraps (just get it out of the house!), the 10 gal was proving too small. This new 20 gal is obviously twice as big, yet small enough that I can drag it behind me when I do yard and garden work more easily than my full-sized barrels. Too, it takes my contractor-sized heavy-duty (3 mil thick) trash bags that I use for my full-sized barrels.

I've lost a few smaller recycle bins due to being at work when the trucks go by and the wind being especially strong. This larger container (larger than a kitchen trash if the measurements mean nothing to you) doesn't fly away if you don't bring it in immediately. As a household that produces more recycle than garbage that's invaluable. Its sturdy enough to not blow away when left at the curb empty and large enough to fit quite a few amazon boxes plus packaging, as well as other recyclables that households accumulated during the week. Great item. The only thing that would make are better are wheels. I'm sure those models are out there but this one is enough.

I got the dark Green 20 gallon one and the black lid.My bungee cord wrapped around nicely to prevent critters from getting into the garbage.Look sharp. It is tough and hold a bag of trash and more.
