Ronseal10 Year Woodstain Natural Oak 750ml

I built my own TV stand from timber I ordered as I wanted a chunky, rustic look but not with the epic price tag they come with. I went with this stain because I spent weeks looking for a colour I liked to no avail. Came across this stuff, now I know it's more for exterior use but even ronseal don't make this colour in a varnish and I was set on this shade. Because its for an indoor item I'm only going to give it one coat, and then wax it, reason being is 3 coats is hardly necessary when it won't be exposed to rain, snow etc. I could use a clear varnish but don't want to risk changing the shade. The stuff was really easy to work with, went on like a dream. I've only just finished it so can't comment on drying time, or longevity but for what I'm using it for can't foresee any problems (I hope!) If I need to go back and recoat then that's fine, plenty left in the tin, it goes a long way (for reference there's about an inch from the top of the tin used for that entire unit, 1 coat) I'll be building side tables next and I'm pretty confident I'll have enough stain to do them too. Excellent stuff and beautiful, warm and rich colour. Can't recommend highly enough

Good stuff but needs at least three coats .

I used this Ronseal 10 year wood stain on my pergola extension to protect it from the elements. It’s very easy to apply and dries pretty quickly to a lovely satin sheen. I originally used this product about three years ago and it’s still looking great. Whether it lasts 10 years remains to be seen but I’ll probably re-coat it before then anyway. It’s best to use this on smooth timber to give a rich oak finish, it’s not meant for rough sawn timber like fence panels. Use for external doors, gates, window frames, or anywhere a smooth finish is required. Highly recommended.

I just love this stuff. I use it on windows, doors, internal and external. I do follow the instructions to the letter. Never had any issues.

Spot on

So being old skool and loathing water-based stains paint seals et al, I was extremely careful to make certain this stain was not water-based. Having a bad day I'd satisfied myself it ticked all the boxes so the purchase was made.Carefully removing it from the box with a smug look on my face, my chin dropped to the ground when I realised it was a water-based product grrr. For the cost of returning as it was my mistake, I got over my ego and used the darned stuff.Three coats on my superbly prepped bench and all is excellent. This is one heck of a product. So much so that I've used it on the solid oak worktops in my workshop. Can't say about longevity [clearly] and I've just one gripe. It foams a bit if you use a brush too large for the job at hand. It still gets five stars despite this niggle.TIPS: Get it on the surface and run with the grain quickly, it dries VERY fast. Nip off after all coats or your brush just skids over the surface. Do that and all will be well.Would I buy it again? Yeah, too right I would.
