Quality edition of complete works.
Library of America's hardcovers are made to a very high standard and designed to be compact and long lasting. They use a smooth quality creamy paper that is reminiscent of India paper. Some people don't like it but I love it. Jackson's complete works at @1700 pages in two volumes fit into a slip case two inches wide. These books are a nice size to take on a trip. I was reading The Haunting of Hill House on my last trip.Jackson wrote from 1945 to 1965. The color and design of the slipcase has a vintage feel that I particularly like. Dustjackets are LOA's standard black with calligraphy and portrait of the author. It's simple and unpretentious and won't look dated in five years. The binding is Smyth sewn for durability. For those who claim that this set was deceptively marketed, all they had to do was read the description.

Great box set
This is a wonderful box set of Shirley Jackson’s work. Be advised that this is simply the two volumes of Jackson’s work from LoA in a slipcase, the books are not different than the individual versions sold separately. Additionally the paper is pretty thin and there wasn’t as much supplemental material in these books as I had hoped. Despite these criticisms it is still a good value to get all of her novels and stories in two books, and I find the slipcase very nice.

Print Size
The order came in on time and was packaged well. I was disappointed in the print size being so small. The description of the set was not as thorough as it should have been. I think there were details that should have been addressed and were not. Next time I will know better!

Cleverly marketed for deceit
This collection is two omnibus books. The image shown is used to conceal this fact, making it seem that you are getting individual hardcover editions of the novels plus the short stories in one volume, as is commonly done.

Poorly Designed
Shirley Jackson is my favorite author and I own all of her published works. I would love to buy a beautiful collection of her complete works. Unfortunately, for the price, this one didn’t have a nice enough cover or binding to want to add it to my bookshelf. The red spider webs and lowbrow typography don’t fit the Shirley Jackson aesthetic and the book isn’t photogenic. The publisher didn’t listen to the fans and really missed the mark with this release.

Deceptive advertising
Just two omnibus books in the cheapest, tackiest sleeves I've ever seen. Total rip off. Had to return.

Good
The paper is very thin and delicate, so we need to be very careful while turning pages.I still find it difficult to believe that they squeezed four books in such a thin hard bound collection. But authentic.

A total rip off!
On purpose, we never see the actual content of this boxset. Because when you purchase it and receive it, you'll see it's just a carton box for a book already published in 2010 (Shirley Jackson: Novels & Stories, ISBN: 978-1-59853-072-8) and an additional volume published in 2020 (Shirley Jackson: Four Novels of the 1940s & 50s, ISBN: 978-1-59853-670-6). BOTH are available separately for a reasonable price. I had already the 2010 book, and now I've just paid 60 euros for the same book + a carton box + a volume 2.

Very disappointed with the content and quality
Very poor paper quality and not a box set but two books in a thin sleeve. Very misleading, not worth the money at all
