Absolutely brilliant set. Paired it with the Thrustmaster TH8A shifter
Absolutely brilliant set. Paired it with the Thrustmaster TH8A shifter. Using with Forza 6 on Xbox One, and Project Cars on Xbox One. Forza 6 has it's own issues with FFB right now that need addressed, so it's difficult to rate the wheel off of that game alone. So I'll go off of Project Cars. The FFB is absolutely on point. Whether you're driving street cars or full on race cars, you feel every bump, every wiggle, every slip of the tires. The game recognizes every feature of the wheel, pedals, and shifter, and seamlessly adjusts based on what you're driving. For example, if you're driving a paddle shifted car with no manual clutch, even if that setting is turned on (manual clutch and shifter) it automatically recognizes the paddles and removes the need for clutch input. You can of course override that by touching the clutch or shifter at any time. On the other side, if driving a car that has a full manual transmission with clutch, the paddles won't work. This is all automatically done (unless you override it/lock something out via settings and calibration). It also automatically adjusts DOR based on what you're driving. The lock to lock turn radius of a street Ford Mustang for example, is nowhere near the same as that of a full on Formula 1 car. This is recognized between the wheel and Project Cars, and adjusted without you touching a thing. Pedals are plastic, but have a heavy weight to them and feel absolutely solid. The brake mod goes amazingly far for realism. Honestly, I have used/owned a couple of wheel setups with load cells and this matches them at the very least. If properly adjusted, the brake mod feels like an actual brake pedal. You will have slightly better performance with top of the line load cell pedals perhaps, but for this price point you won't get one that is noticeably better. The throttle, clutch, and brake pedal all have different resistances from each other. They are not adjustable (aside from the brake) but you can feel a difference, and all three feel like real world pedals. They also allow for you to modify the pedal face placement (left or right, and with the throttle, also up or down) and most aftermarket car pedal faces will actually bolt to them. So you can get some that suit the size of your feet better if you desire. FFB is very strong. I had to turn it down in fact as at times it would actually start to pop my wrists and shake the rig. At 50% it's still amazingly strong. When you get it fine tuned you really feel everything. Forza 6 on the other hand, at no fault of the wheel's this is not the case at all, but I am not reviewing Forza 6 so the reason I bring that up is if you play it exclusively, you'll want to wait for Turn 10 to adjust on their end. Their wheel support right now is awful so if you get it and play, and the wheel underwhelms or makes the car uncontrollable, that is the fault of Forza. It works perfectly with Project Cars, also have tested it with iRacing and Assetto Corsa on PC but seldom use either so I didn't go in depth. Seemed at least on par with Project Cars. Also, you WILL need a rig of some sort with this. Even if just a wheel stand. It has clamp attachments and bolt on points as well, but the FFB is way too strong for just using on your lap or a TV tray or something. I have a full on sim rig and like I said, on full power it would literally shake it like mad and actually would pop my wrists to the point it felt like they'd break. That's not an exaggeration, it really is that powerful. So don't even bother getting it unless you have a rig, will build/buy one or at the very least get a good wheel stand. I have no doubt Turn 10 will fix their wheel compatibility issues. This isn't the only wheel they have problems with. Literally any wheel with FFB is almost unusable with it. So again, don't judge this wheel off of their terrible support of wheels. But for now, if you play Project Cars or the above mentioned PC sims, this wheel has no equal right now. Not even my Fanatec (that went back as it was within return range) could compare to it.

Excellent Xbox One set, and a nice step forward from the Fanatec CSR Wheel/CSR Elite Pedal for Xbox 360.
As an adult gamer that previously used the well-regarded Fanatec CSR Wheel/CSR Elite pedals for Xbox 360, I was looking for a similar quality racing sim wheel and pedals for Xbox One at a similar price point. At five hundred dollars, the Fanatec was a great set that felt like the real thing (so to speak), and the Fanatec also offered some great user refinements like being able to adjust the backpressure of the brake pedal using a spring adjustment behind the pedal to enhance braking feel. Unfortunately Fanatec’s new offerings for the Xbox One are just too expensive, and you’d have to spend over one thousand dollars for a proper Fanatec Xbox One set today. Enter the Thrustmaster VG TX Leather Wheel/Pedal set for Xbox One. This set is truly excellent! The Thrustmaster servo base itself is heavy and is quite substantial. The force feedback and vibration are quite strong (I had to turn the force feedback down a bit as it was just too much to get the wheel turning at 100% FFB in Forza 6). The servo wheel allows you to directly change the steering angle of rotation (i.e., 270, 360, 540 or 900 degrees) and steering sensitivity right on the wheel itself. See the Thrustmaster website to download supplemental instructions on how to do this as its not contained in the included manual. Importantly, the Thrustmaster pedals allow for fine brake adjustment using an included conical brake mod that screws in just behind the brake pedal. Using this mod allows you to achieve the brake pedal feel of your choice. Although the included leather racing wheel and pedals feel great, you can switch out the wheel and/or pedals with a number of alternative offerings from Thrustmaster if you so desire. (I’ve got my eye on that Thrustmaster Ferrari F1 wheel, just wish it was labeled Mercedes Petronas instead!) For those that are interested, the following are the advance wheel settings I’m using with this Thrustmaster set in Forza 6: Steering Axis Deadzone Inside: 0 Steering Axis Deadzone Outside: 100 Acceleration Axis Deadzone Inside: 0 Acceleration Axis Deadzone Outside: 100 Deceleration Axis Deadzone Inside: 0 Deceleration Axis Deadzone Outside: 100 Clutch Axis Deadzone Inside: 15 Clutch Axis Deadzone Outside: 50 Handbrake Axis Deadzone Inside: 10 Handbrake Axis Deadzone Outside: 100 Vibration: 75 Force Feedback Scale: 75 Wheel Rotation: Varies by car and preference, but I use 360 degrees and 540 degrees quite a bit across many cars. Also, under the Assists menu, I have steering set to “Normal," no ABS, and STM on (no TCS though). My only, and I mean only, gripe with this set is that in order to update the wheel’s firmware, you can’t just do it through your WI-FI connected Xbox One. Instead, you need a PC, not a Mac, computer to download the update then sync it to your wheel. It is always recommended that you update the wheel’s firmware upon receipt and check back regularly for updates as Thrustmaster periodically publishes updates to refine it’s products features and/or add new features. I hope Thrustmaster one day offers firmware updates directly through the Xbox (preferably) or at least offers Mac-compatible firmware updates. (P.S. – I also tried the overpriced Logitech G920 for Xbox One, which I returned as it was smaller/too much like a toy and did not offer brake adjustability. See my review of that set separately.)

Fantastic wheel and pedals, setup can be finicky
Your driving games come dramatically alive once you add a quality wheel and pedals like these. "Dirt" on the PC for example went from being a marginal experience with mouse/keyboard to being an incredibly realistic ride. Mechanical feedback is excellent, the motors have major muscle. The clamps attach the wheel quite well to a table, but if you can screw the wheel in place for extra ruggedness. The pedals are plastic but take reasonable punishment (metal pedals would be a lot pricier and heavier.) The only thing that is underwhelming is getting your wheel working and fine tuned, first when you install the wheel and later when you want to use a new game. You should be able to plug in the wheel when you buy it and from then all games should recognize it and use it as the default input with no further tweaking. That was far from my experience: - On the PC there was software to install initially, which you need to download for the latest version. Afterwards there are controls to fiddle with to get it work in each game, usually located on some proprietary control panel. Why can't Windows just grok these gaming devices thoroughly like it does with a popular printer, i.e. include the drivers for it and handle all wheel tweaking via a built-in, standardized control panel? - On my Xbox One the setup experience completely eluded me. I tried to use it and couldn't get it to work - it wouldn't get recognized by the xbox as a new control. I looked it up online and several people had problems along these lines. Usually they got it solved by sending the wheel back and getting a new one, not an option for me since I am abroad. (Why you can't just fix such a problem with a PC-installable firmware upgrade eludes me.) One special caveat if you live or travel outside the US: The power supply on this unit only accepts 110V. This is unacceptable (and dangerous) in a high end gaming device that people may take on a holiday abroad with the kids. This is the age of the switching multi-voltage power supply, there is no longer an excuse for this (other than cutting cost corners.) Bottom line: once you get this wheel to work correctly, it is one SWEET ride

Best decision I ever made
I had a lot of doubts about this wheel originally because of all the mixed reviews for the 458 Italia iteration that first hit the market, actually so much so that I purchased the Mad Catz pro racing ffb wheel, which was my first racing wheel ever. I sold it because there was no clutch and the they never released any add ons for their product. Nevertheless, I spent countless hours of research and eventually took the plunge on this. Best decision I ever made. I've had this leather edition since it's release since early October. Pros: - Plenty strong force feedback (especially compared to mad catz) - Quality of the wheel is outstanding (it's solid and has a good weight to it when not connected to the base, also good paddle click) - Pedals are great, solid even though most of it's base is plastic, the pedals themselves are metal and can be adjusted and swapped out for real aftermarket sets( if you're willing) I think the one's they come with are great the way they are (good quality plastic, the brake mod that it comes with completely changes the experience and I'm not sure why everyone says they cannot be inverted (Suspended position, compared to Floor-mounted position or upside down if you will) but they definitely CAN be with a simple 2 second hold of the mode button on the wheelbase) - the wheelbase is a solid weighted piece with a great mounting system, also comes with 2 spots to hard mount( lots of adjustments i.e. degrees of rotation, steering sensitivity, auto clutch, pedal inversion etc. -Add-ons and plenty of them such as four additional steering wheels, TH8A shifter, and the T3PA- Pro pedal set Cons: -There really are none in my opinion (i will just go to add a few things people have commented on the wheelbase itself) -They say that the fan is loud.. which isn't the case (unless you're young and trying not to wake your folks) even at a low level of volume I don't hear it Main point I want to make with this is use their support website (ts.thrustmaster.com) They have tons of info, manuals, even templates for mounting. I believe most of the bad reviews for the 458 came from users that did not check this first. As long as you follow the instructions, you'll be happy. Hope this helps

I've never had so much fun playing a video game!
Was really stuck on whether I was going to go with Thrustmaster or Fanatec but in the end, I am so glad I went with Thrustmaster. I'm not going to lie, I probably would have went with Fanatec if I had more money to spend on a wheel set up but then again, I'm not entirely sure if it would have felt like I got double the product. What I love most about these Thrustmaster products is the fact that they come with brackets included (both wheel base and shifter) so you can literally just strap it down to any desk. This was the main problem I had with Fanatec, these brackets (table mount and shifter mount) were sold individually and were not included! $50 for just the base mount! Factor in the actual cost of the base and you're paying $650, base alone. Another problem I had with Fanatec was the fact that they didn't offer a SINGLE bundle deal like you see with Thrustmaster. I remember, I emailed Fanatec asking if there was ANY savings for purchasing a base, wheel, pedals, shifter, and mounts and they said, nope, full price for everything PLUS shipping! Talk about money hungry. So in the end I decided to save $500 and just go with this package. It is a much better deal, especially based off the fact that you can get everything (base, wheel, shifter, pedals, bracket mounts) for the price of JUST the Fanatec base. For the product itself, I am very happy. It worked flawlessly out of the box, had a little trouble getting it set up on my PC but thats my only gripe. The pedals feel fantastic, they were moving around on my carpet though, so I had to put two 25lb weights behind them. The wheel itself also feels amazing, however, I do wish it were a little bigger as my fingers hit the padal shifter when things get crazy. Now for the base. The base is not very large and not very heavy despite what some people say. The wheel is fairly easy to connect and when connected, feels very sturdy. The force feedback is extremely strong and will definitely give you a run for your money. I've literally never had as much fun playing a racing game in my life and I've been playing for 10+ years. I have my force feedback set at 50% and it is more than enough, I also want to make it last and not strain the motor to its full capacity which is why I set it low. I really just want to make this last as long as possible. All I can say is, if you're looking at buying a wheel set-up and on somewhat of a budget, this is your package. *This review is subject to change as I have only had it for a day but lets hope it stays this good!

To Much Fun
Well, how to start. It's difficult to handle when you're not used to a sim racing setup. To feel how the car is reacting through the wheel was new, and to be able to use a clutch pedal, not a button! Yet how the force feedback plays in games like Dirt Rally and Forza 6 it hurt my hands to hold onto the wheel at times. Drifting wasn't that easy either, more like embarrassing to be there trying. Racing however is always a blast and I could set some good consistent times on the track. Yet if you mess up it's unforgiving at times. The leather by the way is amazing and a much better wheel in general than the original Ferrari one in looks alone. It all hooks up just fine, cords were long enough, but almost not long enough for what I did with cable managment except the power cord being plenty to long with no worry. I added some padding to the base of the pedals for longevity, however withought it, it was fine. The shifter was an easy attachment and work with the wheel fine. Paddle shifters worked excellently too, yet when the Wheel starts spinning through drifts or spinouts, I usually hit the wrong paddle. I used the 458 Italia Spyder version before this one with the bungie setup and that was honeslty fun and easy, but it lacked anything but a simple wheel and pedals. On top of that there was a missing feeling through the force feedback when I first started, yet that is due to having own a welded diff. Miata set up for the track and I gotta say, it's not that fast and I'm not on a true track. Our SCCA races are held in a big enough parking lot where you usually don't get past 60 mph. in a 1st gen, na, Miata on bald tires on a minute long track. So simply to say, I don't know how spot on a car should feel going 60+ on average on a to scale, real track with tarmac. I've ranted long enough to say my final thoughts. For the price and how much I use it, it's well worth it. I only now wish after using it that Thrustmaster had an addon for a handbrake.

Thrustmaster TX Lies
Be noted that I am writing this review under a head of steam. I was told that this wheel would be great. Being that I have PCars and Forza 6 for the Xbox and iRacing for PC, I was looking for a wheel that would compatible with those systems. People told me "Oh hey dude that Thrustmaster company is great! So far superior to Logitech or overpriced Fanatec." Well you know what? WRONG. And yes Thrustmaster I am throwing a full swing at your company. The moment I plugged in the main power supply into the wall socket as directed, I immediately smelt electrical charring and the base was humming for about 10 seconds, then all would shut off. Strange. So I did what anyone would do, unplug the cord to inspect for damage, then go about retrying. WRONG AGAIN. Same thing happened for a few times before it finally stopped. However it didn't stop as the wheel didn't calibrate once. Not on PC. Not on Xbox. Not once. So I then spring for the firmware upgrade. That should do it! Absolutely not... Not only did the software not recognize the device, but I was constantly spammed with Error 43 codes on the USB itself. The lights on the base were working but the 'Mode' button had absolutely no use and that's when it finally hit me that the whole system was borked. In desperation I tried it on my second PC. Software download, running, and nope nadda Error 43. It absolutely shocks me that a system so expensive such as the Thrustmaster TX "Premium" Leather Wheel can't even function correctly OUT OF THE BOX. Don't get this wheel. I sent in a support email but I'm sure I'll be taken care of dead last as I'm sure I'm not the only one whose system was broken before I got a chance to even try it. So lets re-summarize: Fried Base that won't work on OUT OF BOX on 3 systems (Xbox, 2 PCs) I am beyond livid as it was such an investment on top of all the other hardware and gear I got for a Sim Racing Experience. LISTEN if you are like me you want a solid Sim Racing experience with a fairly nice wheel. Lets not even mention the fact the box had cut tape already... on a new unit. Did I receive a used POS? I payed for the new... Do not get this wheel. I beg of you. Go with Logitech. Their firmware might be worse but you'll save some cash and probably won't be stuck in 40102 support tickets. As for you Thrustmaster, if you are reading this I hope you truly understand how upsetting this is. Fix it.

A very decent wheel
So when this arrived i was very excited to use it as i never used one before. I then unboxed everything and all the parts and the instructions. I put everything together and mounted the wheel to my desk and plugged it all in. Then went to the thrustmaster website to download the software and then i updated the firmware on the wheel and then i launched my game and everything worked fine. I been using it for like about 3 days now and so far its still working great. I play a few racing games with it and the wheel and pedals worked great. If you are looking for a decent sim racing wheel setup then this one is the one to get if your budget is $500. If you want something cheaper then go for a Logitech G920. Both are great but this one has stronger force feedback it feels more premium and it is quieter. I will edit this review if anything changes.

Excellent wheel
So far I've had an excellent experience with this thing. Unfortunately I only use it in Forza Horizon 4 - which apparently isn't the greatest for ffb wheels, so can't say for sure. However it's very tunable and using it (I have the shifter as well) is an immersive and incredibly fun experience (minus the game being trash sometimes). Power cord requires quite a bit of force to go in. Actually didn't get it all the way in the first time and thought I got a defective one. Pedal set is sturdy with non slip pads (although with how hard I tap the clutch along with a little bit of unevenness in the floor it still slides a bit). One thing I wish was better was the wheel size. It's quite small and I wish it was the closer to the real thing. Overall incredibly happy with it.

Why does it feel better than my actual car?!
Was torn between this wheel or Logitech g29. However I'm so glad I got this one. Yes it's 50% costlier than the Logi. But more than makes up for it with its build quality, precision and sheer quality of feedback you get from the motor. One of the main reasons for considation was the fact that this has no deadzone in the center . Hence absolutely precise to steer. And no clunky nature of the wheel as these are belt driven rather than gear driven mechanism of Logitech . When it comes to games, I sometimes feel this can more than suffice for an upper body workout. The games I have played are dirt rally 2, forza hirizon 4 and gta 5. Will slowly move to the more advanced sim racing title like asseto Corsa once it's available on a discount on steam. But oh boy I'm having a blast playing GTA on this wheel. Every bump, undulations, turning radius, cornering speeds, terrain, suspension, braking are felt precisely. I play with the force feedback at 50% . Hence I feel t150 would be more than enough . As the only major difference between t150 vs t300/tx are the force of motors - 2-3 nm torque vs 4-5 nm torque.
