Fun
This game has been so fun to play. I had it for my nintendo DS growing up and seeing it for the switch was super exciting. The game is not difficult and is friendly for all ages.

As an avid gamer and food enthusiast, I was excited to try out Cooking Mama: Cookstar on the Nintendo Switch. This cooking game offers a unique blend of mini-games and culinary challenges, providing an interesting gameplay experience. However, my personal experience revealed both positive aspects and areas for improvement. One of the highlights of Cooking Mama: Cookstar is the wide variety of recipes available. From appetizers to desserts, the game offers a diverse selection that caters to different tastes. Exploring and trying out new dishes was a delightful experience, and it added a sense of creativity to the game. The mini-games in Cooking Mama: Cookstar are engaging and enjoyable. They simulate various cooking techniques and add an interactive element to the gameplay. From chopping ingredients to timing the cooking process, these activities made me feel like a real chef in the kitchen. Accomplishing the mini-games successfully brought a rewarding feeling of progress. Another positive aspect is the option for cooperative multiplayer. Cooking Mama: Cookstar allows you to cook together with friends or family, creating a fun and social experience. Collaborating in the kitchen and competing with each other added an extra layer of excitement and friendly rivalry. However, it's important to note that there were a few areas where the game could be improved. For example, the depth of the gameplay felt somewhat lacking. While the variety of recipes was impressive, some of the cooking tasks seemed simplistic and didn't offer a significant challenge. This may leave experienced gamers wanting more complexity and depth in the gameplay mechanics. Additionally, I found the replay value of Cooking Mama: Cookstar to be somewhat limited. Once I had tried all the available recipes and completed the mini-games, there wasn't much left to keep me engaged in the long term. It would have been great to have additional content or ongoing challenges to extend the enjoyment and replayability of the game. In summary, Cooking Mama: Cookstar on the Nintendo Switch offers an enjoyable cooking experience with its wide range of recipes and engaging mini-games. While it has its strengths in terms of variety and interactive gameplay, it falls short in terms of depth and long-term engagement. If you're a casual gamer who appreciates cooking-themed games, Cooking Mama: Cookstar can provide moments of culinary fun. Just be aware that the experience may feel somewhat limited in terms of challenge and replayability.

long ship time, but product in perfect condition and game exactly as i remember
Be patient when ordering and don’t panic if it feels like it’s taking entirely too long to ship, i ordered this on december 2nd and the estimated arrival was originally december 31st, but very quickly after ordering that estimate became december 27th. I waited for it to charge me and ship out which it finally did on december 27th, with the estimated arrival still saying it was arriving that day. I was a little sketched out, as i’ve had products claim to be shipped and claim to be arriving that never show up, but when i got home that evening it had been delivered the same day it shipped! The case and the game cartridge were in perfect condition and the game is exactly as it was when i was a child playing on the ds (which will forever be my favorite version) and the wii (which i like less than either the switch version or the ds version). Cooking mama never truly changes, at least functionally. The gameplay remains the same with the addition of new sections. I love the addition of a vegetarian section, where you can make all the same recipes from the main section of the game, but made with non-meat options (seitan in place of chicken in one recipe is the only example i can think of at this moment). I also think the multiplayer (potluck) section is super cool, although it’ll be a while before i can play it with anyone. I haven’t had the chance yet to really dive into this specific game, but it’s the same game i’ve loved for nearly 20 years and it’s remained nearly the same.

In reviews elsewhere I’ve read that it’s not a great game but if you grew up on cooking mama you know what to expect and it’s brilliant. It brings back so much nostalgia and is well worth it for that alone

I really enjoy this game, the motion controls are a lot more streamlined and better than wakuwaku sweets (although I still enjoy that game). My only complaint is that you can’t cook recipes in multiplayer mode although I assumed you could. You can only do mini games in multiplayer mode. Despite this you can simply play the recipes in single player and pass the controller around to as many players as you like! That said they are enjoyable and overall the game reminds me of the wii games. There’s a quality I can’t explain but if you have been searching for something on the switch that will remind of you the fun you had on the wii in your childhood I highly recommend this game! It’s quite expensive but I can’t complain because they don’t make it anymore and it’s not available on the eshop because of a legal issue. This is why I’d recommend you get it before any games that are still available
