Can I leave this charger on my car for 6 weeks when I am away from home and is it safe to plug into 6amp socket in garage?

There would be no problem. The charger is microprocessor controlled and falls to a maintenance level when the battery is fully charged. Since it is fused at 3 amps it would be quite happy with a 6 amp supply.

Yes. Its designed to maintain your battery while connected to the car. Its not the fastest charger on the market but then thats not its prime purpose.

Yes, this is the best way to charge the battery, you can also leave the charger on the car as long as you like as it will shut of when not needed and if the battery needs a top up it will start to charge again . This charger is plug and forget .

Can this charger be used when battery is not connected to the vehicle

I have successfully used this to charge the battery both when it has been fully disconnected from the car and also while it is in place and connected. It comes with clips to attach to the terminals for a temporary connection and also a cable that you can permanently connect to the battery to make it very quick and simply to connect the charger for a top-up. I've been very happy with this and would absolutely recommend it. It's not the fastest charger if you have a deep discharge, but it has the intelligence to cut out when full and switch to trickle charge which made it my first choice.
