Poynting XPOL-2-5G-10 Directiona Antenna

We are in remote rural area with very slow broadband available, so we rely on 4g mobile signal. Our house has thick stone walls so no signal inside, limited signal outside at ground level. We spent some time finding the best position for the antenna at roof level, and are now receiving 50 - 70 mbps, the fastest we've had here. Very pleased!

So Ilive in rural are EE signal on my mobile varies between 1 and 2 4g my BT hybrid connect came with a mobile broadband router but all it got was between nothing and 1 so useless. I bought this and fixed outside got a mast location map off the internet fixed the mast and pointed it at he mast. INSTANTLY the signal jumped to GOOD. It works perfectly what more can I say

Pitch, Yaw and patience: After researching for this product for ages I bit the bullet, I knew the exact location of the mast and was ready in every way. But then the fun and games of installation... if you don't have the patience to give this around 2-4 hours of install time you are unlikely to get the speed gains you want. Speed and location: My Archer MR600 was hot glued to the window upstairs to get around 30-40Mbps download so I needed a solution to get the 3+miles to the mast from outside. I now get consistently 60+Mbps but sometimes 80Mbps on download. BUT that is after around two 2 hour sessions of micro adjustments and around 100 speed tests later. Just 1mm difference in angle on the unit and the signal can drop down to 10-12Mbps! It is highly sensitive direction - it is a directional antenna - obviously. And it is not always the angle that you think the mast is located. I found positioning it slightly off axis improved the download enormously. It has no Yaw control markers, so you just have to bend the stainless steel bracket it sits on a bit. Connectors: For most TP-Link 4G routers you will not need any adapter cables they worked fine with the MR600 straight in. So in conclusion: A great unit that could benefit better adjustment control as time in setup requires patience in bucket loads. I've only had it up for a few days so time will tell on the reliability, as long as it stays exactly where I set it I guess. Cable and connectors work fine for TP Link routers without adapters that Amazon will try and up sell to you. Would I recommend it but only if you have patience and time to adjust it and test test test test.

Was only getting two or three bars jumping from one to the other fit this antenna now a solid four bars 24/7, found out where the nearest mast was went on Google Earth drew a line from the mast to the Cabin two miles knew exactly where to point the antenna brilliant

Bought the one with 10m of cable as was mounting high and the router was going into the cellar. No pole included but easy and cheap enough from here or screwfix. My speed went from 40 to 100 on my 3mobile router, and signal went to -69 from -80.

It just works. Easy setup and then great result.

This antenna is much better than I expected! I live in a remote area and For 18 years I have put up with 2mbps from BT broadband. So I finally decided to go with mobile broadband. Normally I would get no signal from my mobile, but when I put this on the roof of my house I now get up to 70mbps speed!! I’m really delighted with this antenna. It does exactly what it says on the box. It did take a bit of time to get it set up in the perfect position but the effort is definitely worth it. Now I’m enjoying streaming HD movies with no lag.

Good Product, but don’t expect miracles. The 4G is terrible in my area (all networks). I could get about 2Mbs on my iPhone. I purchased a cheaper outdoor antenna (£10) and managed to get about 8Mbs at best. With this product after finding my nearest 4G mast and trial and error of positioning for best signal I managed to get between 12Mbs and 20Mbs. Good build quality and does improve your signal speeds, but don’t get too excited.

I recently started using a new Telstra Smart WiFi modem (Gen 3) which comes with a 4G LTE sim as a backup network when NBN goes down. Without this antenna, the mobile Internet registers as poor (zero to two bars). i experienced the pain of 2Mbps download speeds for a day with frequent drop out as we live in a telstra blackspot area. I wall mounted the antenna initially but ended up mounting it on an antenna mast just under the eaves (my available cable length prevented me from trying roof mount options). It took a few hours of experimentation to point it in the best direction. The modem still says I have a poor to fair connection (which is better than no connection to poor). I now see two bars of strength instead of one. The connection stability and speed has now been greatly improved as I can achieve a stable connection between 20 to 22 Mbps which is close to the maximum supported on the Telstra 4G backup sim card. I initially had it wall mounted but have since mounted it on a small wall attached TV antenna pole so I can rotate it enough to achieve the optimal speed. I also experimented with Up/Down variation by bending the attachment bracket slightly. I was surprised how directional this antenna is, if I even stray more than about 5 degrees from the LTE access tower I see a sharp drop off of in speed and stability. I tested it for over an hour streaming 4K netflix content to two TVs without any lag or glitches. Something I found useful for determining where to point it is to first identify which tower your modem naturally connects to without any antenna and make note of the MMC, MNC, LAC/TAC and Cell ID codes for that transmitter. Put the values into the "Cell Location Finder" android app to see on a map where the cell tower or smart street light is and position the antenna in that direction.

Nach intensivster Vorbereitung & Recherche ist die Entscheidung für diese Antenne an einer Fritzbox 6850 5G getroffen. Die Fritzbox wird von fts-henning.de noch umgebaut um 2 externe Antennen anschließen zu können. Der Mast steht in 2700m Entfernung und wurde mit der Android App "Cell Mapper" ausgemessen & lokalisiert. Bei einem Ersten Test an einem anderen Standort schwankte die Qualität mit der noch nicht umgebauten 6850 ohne die Poynting zwischen -115 & -140 db - mit externer Antenne stabile -105 db. Die Antenne ist also noch nicht montiert - und die Bewertung wird aktualisiert!

Habe meine Verbindung der Fritzbox deutlich verbessert! Ist das Geld wert!
