The best pregnancy book out there
I have felt really well prepared with this book. It removes a lot of pressure and uncertainty and is really clear and helpful! A very calm voice to guide you through all 3 trimesters (and beyond) whilst not giving strict rules/guidelines.

Must have for expectant parents!
This book is amazing, the perfect amount of information in each area (pregnancy, birth, postpartum) and easy to absorb a little bit at a time. Perfect balance of reassuring and realistic, I’ve read this early in my pregnancy and will keep coming back to it as I progress. Also love that the author is an NHS midwife, she gives a much more realistic overview of my experience compared to other books. Really can’t recommend it enough for expectant parents, this book has made me even more excited for all aspects of pregnancy and motherhood.

AMAZING!
Wow this book is incredible really really useful for first time expecting mums. With so much changing from when my mum gave birth to me it was so refreshing to be able to read so much information about now and what to expect for every stage. I would highly recommend this book for any expecting mum. This book was recommended to me by a friend and I am so glad I got it, I am not much of a reader but I smashed it out in a week on holiday I couldn’t put it down it was so informative. Marie goes through each stage not missing a thing and making you feel at ease. I was very nervous about labour but since reading this book and understanding every stage and I am the boss has made me feel so relaxed. I will deffo be buying the new book “The First Year” when it’s out later this year.

Really good book
Great book. Bigger than I thought it would be.It does seem to focus more on pregnancy and birth rather than the basics of looking after your baby, just so that you are aware. Its also full of facts about pregnancy and babies themselves which is very interesting.I have given it 4 stars simply because it’s not quite as I expected-I thought there would be more content on the actual basics of baby care, More of a how to guide, however, it is a fab book and I can see myself using it over the coming weeks and months.

Absolute essential for childbirth
This is an amazing book, an absolute essential for any mother going into pregnancy and birth. I read a couple of others too but this is the only one I’ve really found helpful. This was also great for my birthing partners to read - husband so he could learn and get access to the same information as me, and my mother - she found it incredibly useful to understand how pregnancy and birth have changed and also what had stayed the same since she had her children. I feel so much more informed and comfortable going into this now.Marie’s second book is also coming out just as my baby is born and will cover the first year, so I can’t wait to get a copy and read her advice and thoughts there.

Only pregnancy book you need to read!
By far the best pregnancy book I read (in fact actually stopped reading others after finishing this). I started reading this towards the end of my first trimester when I was filled with nerves about the next few months of pregnancy, labour and beyond. By the end of the book I was incredibly calm and ready to tackle everything ahead knowing how to trust my body and instincts. The writing style is super easy to digest, important for those tired pregnant brains! I found myself dipping back in to keys areas as needed and as we prepared for labour.Looking forward to the release of the next book to help me get through the first year. Also enjoy following Marie on instagram for more advice and newborn reality ❤️

Best pregnancy book!
I now have my 6 month boy in my arms and I can say, after the last 6 months and previous, that this book was the best investment I made during pregnancy. I found it difficult to get the balance right between natural and medical viewpoints but this book did just that. Her style of writing was familiar yet not patronising. I have kept it ready for my next pregnancy. After all covid threw at us, this felt like a lifeline. I felt so informed and my birth was so far away from the all natural birth I wanted. With the Modern Midwife’s advice though; I felt empowered and knew I was doing the best for me and my baby boy. My husband was fed up of me mentioning the modern midwife! I think if speaks volumes when I don’t review products usually but will review this one. My quick summary is-the best pregnancy book I bought and some of the best advice I’ve ever had!

Worth to get this book, especially if you are a first time mum
I loved the structure of this book and how it touches many important topics you need to know about pregnancy and birth. It is very detailed. If I only read this book, would still be quite confident with the knowledge it gives you about the different stages and topics of pregnancy. So, I would buy it again, for sure. And easy to read too.
