GiroMen's BermMountain Bike Shoes

Seems well made and is good for walking off bike. Possibly just on the small size 46/UK11. It's OK for me but think first! As for performance ask in 1 year!

Now on my second pair; the first ones lasted three years of a daily commute. I was happy enough that when they wore out I bought exactly the same again.Note: these don't come with cleats - see "customers frequently brought..." for a set of 2 bolt SPD cleats.

First pair of SPD shoes but the difference is amazing. Much better power transfer due to the stiffer sole. Find them really comfy and good width especially in the toe area. I wear barefoot shoes normally so didn't want anything too pointy! Can thoroughly recommend them. I use mine both on and off road

On ordering it's clear on amazon that it's UK sizing. I ordered 13.5 UK. But what was delivered was 13.5 US. Fwiw the shoe seems OK but is heavy.

I've been wearing these for a few months now and I'm really pleased with how they're working out. I'm female and normally wear a UK 6.5. I think size 7s were a good choice as it allows for the slight expansion of the feet on longer rides and for wearing thick socks in winter weather. I'd much prefer to have slightly too much room than too little.I've been using these in combination with Cranks Brothers Double Shot 2 hybrid pedals and they work well together. Cranks Brothers pedals come with their own cleats which fit well and are easy to install in these shoes. It does take a bit of trial and error to get the angle and cleat depth correct for your own personal riding style but that isn't a fault of the shoe.The sole of the shoe is very solid, allowing for very efficient transfer of power through the pedals - both clipped in and with flats. However, the sturdy sole means they're not the most comfortable for walking in. Walking around Tesco to purchase snacks for my ride, for example, can make my toes turn slightly numb. This doesn't seem to be a problem when I'm on the bike though.The shoes withstand mud and water on the ground pretty well and my feet will stay dry enough on a muddy ride over the South Downs. The material over the toes and under the velcro straps is breathable so if you were to stand in a deep puddle for any length of time, water would obviously sneak in. But it's resistant enough for mud, splashes and light rain and a definite upgrade on a pair of trainers.They're my first pair of MTB SPD shoes so I don't have an equivalent to compare them to. I do own a pair of Shimano road shoes that are the same size and similar price point and I would rate these Giro Berms higher for comfort.

My initial ride with crank bros mallet pedals cleats were way too tight and I had some spills due to not being able to unclip. After adjusting the position they feel better with candy c's but we'll see how the mallets go again. I've added the shim/spacer and they were still very tight with little float. The cleat ends up really deep with all the tread on these shoes and they are a bit heavy. I didn't want another ratchet system though, hopefully they'll break in.

Schuhe wurden sehr schnell geliefert, die Ware unbeschädigt,weil ordentlich verpackt.Preis sehr gut, das Handling jedoch...Man kommt sich vor, als wären die Füße in einen Gummiblock eingeschweist.Auch die Materialoberfläche fühlt sich an wie ein Model Marke Gummistiefel.Aber bei dem niedrigen Preis kann man wahrlich nicht mehr erwarten.Im Übrigen haben diese Schuhe wohl bei Regen einen gewaltigen Vorteil.....
